This is something I would love to get into.

newsub4a... your photographs are beautiful, how do you enjoy/fear wax play? What feelings does it invoke, physically and emotionally?

Has anyone else been involved in wax play, either as giver or receipiant?

The only thing my limited memory tells me is that you shouldn't use scented candles, as they reach much higher (presumably dangerous) temperatures.

    Mistress Watchful,
in my experience wax play delivers a good sharp does of pain which quickly recedes ready for the Mistress to drip more on what ever her chosen piece of anatomy might be.....
It has the advantage of being suitably painful but provided the slave is silenced one that causes little noise......which is great if Your worried about neighbours being disturbed by the whack of whips on flesh! If Your not you can always flog the dried wax from Your slaves flesh afterwards......ooooo.....actually speaking as a hairy sub removing the wax is more painful than having it applied.( i knew you'd be upset)
My former Mistress actually got into body waxing and developed an unhealthy interest in what she called 'back, sack and crack' which was excessively painful...i thought.....she thought it was great!
    with respect milton

I have used hot wax on My pet several times, and I certainly enjoyed it each time although he did not! LOL Believe it or not, it is his one hard limit, the one thing that he is totally against, and because this is a combined lifestyle I have accepted his wishes to not have this done to him. I do still get to enjoy it with My cksj, which is of course online by cam but it still excites Me to watch him jump out of his chair when it drips LOL
My pet was told once that soy candles do not burn as hot so that might be an option for those that want to try it. I also agree with the clean up mess that milton speaks of, it is the down side of having some fun but its worth it :)

Ohhhh yes, i definitely like wax play ... receiving, of course. Being quite a pain slut i really enjoy the short but sharp stinging pain that turns into a soothing warmth almost as if my Mistress's hand would caress the cane marks that ever so often are decorating my bum .

However, if Your pet is not very much into pain you shoud avoid beeswax candles which are much hotter than ordinary household candles.

Thank-you, although in truth they are the true handiwork of my Goddess.
It is actually very relaxing. All i have to do is lay there, tied and trussed and let Goddess do as She pleases!
It is very calming. Although sometimes uncomfortable when the wax splashes on me initially, the heat that eventually spreads across my skin is fabulous. And when my cock is covered in layers of warm wax? Wow! Truly a fun bondage experience for the ol' boy!

Goddess actually pours hot wax on me from a 16 ounce cup. She uses wax from a paraffin spa so it is not extremely hot. It is like very warm bath water (OK , HOT bath water! lol) After this She does the other colors and once the thick layers of paraffin are on me, i can barely feel the splashes of color.

Sadly i am short on both sleep and time to reply properly. Wax play is only painfully dangerous if done improperly. To that end here are a few links to other things i have written on the subject when we first started playing with wax.

(This entry is pretty lame about wax play and I think i might have other blogs about the wax play, but not sure...)

One tip that was probably not mentioned in any of my other posts... if playing with a pierced subby, cover the piercings with plastic wrap to keep the wax out of the piercings. It may not cause major issues, but is such a pain to clean! If the piercing is for chastity this makes frequent cleanings difficult and then the wax in the piercing might in fact be a serious issue!

(oh yes, you might want to consider wax play in the buff for the dom as well, as the splashing wax can ruin your clothes! )

Any other questions i will reply to as time permits, but we are getting ready to undertake a MAJOR renovation project and my computer time is going to be limited.

I tried this on my self ONCE.

I lit the candle.. I dropped all of about 4-5 drops on me.. I put the candle out. And I can hold a candle and have the wax run down my hand without flinching, I'm not a wuss!

This is probably because if you try to do it yourself, you can only hold the candle arms length away, or about a metre and a half for me. The wax was probably still too hot but I was too young and stupid to work that out.

Mistress Michelle makes an excellent point of it being quiet though.. old houses like mine have pretty thin windows :-(

    Couple of things:

Always try the wax on your arm first. There are candles out there that burn very hot. Some 'formal' types have an acrylic coating that can cause blisters. Bees wax burns very hot. Best is plain old plumbers candles.

Use baby oil for clean-up. Takes the wax right off.

Also if you splash on leather... Too bad! it doesn't come out.

I've always heard paraffin wax candles were the best. If you do happen to get it on your carpet or comforter, it can (almost) be removed by waiting for it to harden, place a cotton dish towel (the flour sack type are best) over it, and using an iron on a low setting gently press it in a circular motion. Keep the iron moving. Obviously, this is not the recommended method for a nylon carpet or comforter. Test an inconspicuous edge first.
