I just received my new Jail Bird but I am afraid I ordered the ring a little too small. :-( Perhaps due to the oval ring having a little less height that the round. I am getting some discomfort around the underside - feels like excessive pulling. My question is - is this a normal breaking in sort of thing, should I just suck it up and see if it goes away? Or would I be best to use a lube until I get accustomed to the device? I hate to have to send it back to get a larger ring :-(
Also, I should mention I am getting ready to diet with the new year. Will it get looser if I manage to lose a few pounds (like 10). Maybe my Holiday weight is the culprit??
Thanks for that feedback. If you don't mind me asking, do you use it locally or all around the ring's circumference. Does a single application seem to tae care of it (like right after a shower)? I have some JO Premium lube I have used in the past that seems really good (other than staining my sheets LOL).
@LockedinIndy You may find that the discomfort will ease after you get used to the device. I wouldn't send it back just yet. Most newbies order a ring that's much too loose.
Thank you Mistress. I appreciate your advice!! I will use the lube for now and allow my parts to grow accustomed to their new environment.
rule of thumb is usually the ring size is correct if you can get one finger in there. As for the pain, well thats unfortunately one of the most common complaints with chastity devices. The chaffing can really hurt. Some lube now and then well help. Some use pure silicone lube which works well or lanacane antichaffing gel. A little before bed time is important as the nocturnal erections can do a number on ya.
I think the pain is a good reason to go with the diet in the new year and possibly a bit of a clue to maybe choose the properly healthy option over Christmas and go for more walks. Happy Christmas Xx Wendy
Getting used to it by wearing it 24x7 is the best solution Once the ring adjusts with the skin, then you will feel much comfortable It is always better to have a slightly tight ring than having a lose ring which gradually pulls the cage away
Omg Such good advice Always best to be tight rather than lose, baggy and slack not the best ! Happy Christmas Xx Wendy
Thank you for that advice Sunny! I plan to follow it and see what happens. I am only in day 3 right now of continuous wear (I know that sounds unimpressive), but I hope to continue along this road and get good results. Thanks again!
It takes some getting use to. i strongly suggest an ointment with a bit of antibiotic and pain relief in it. Not for long term use but will ease you in. Also ensure you are rinsing any soap out of the device as this with also exasperate the irritation. After cleaning, dry thoroughly and apply ointment. The body will adjust, as will you. While there will be a difference of opinion on this, i find keeping shaved also a big help in adjusting. If the irritation continues you may have to have MM make modifications. i started with an oval ring and settled on a double ring as it was more comfortable for me.
I use it all around the inside of the ring every morning after my shower and sometimes also put some on the skin of my shaft. It lasts all day. I occasionally reapply at night but not usually. The JO Premium sounds similar to the Mr S leathers silicone lube that I use.
I find that a dab of A. & D. ointment after showering in the morning can make a big difference; particularly if I am physically active (cycling, exercise class). It lasts all day.
Made it 6 days before my KH decided it was time for some release and fun! I am happy to report each day got a bit more comfortable, and I was able to go with a bit less lube each day. I am looking forward t trying an extended session, but of course that is her choice!!!
