    I`ve hit my hard limit of 3 uploads in the chatrooms. I`m newly back from a long hiatus and this came as a surprise to me.

    Is that 3 uploads for a week, a month, a year, Indefinitely?

    I suspect that you are limited to 3 uploads on any message. Most of us post our pics, memes, etc in our gallery inside of our profile dashboard. When posted to chat, they become difficult to find later on.
