I'm just about ready to get a my PA piercing and I want to know how soon after getting the piercing I will be able to: 1. Put on a cage without attaching the PA to the cage? 2. Attach the PA to the cage? 3. Get a cage without a ring using only the PA to keep it on?
There is no one size fits all answer to a question of how fast you'll heal after getting a piercing. Even when one person gets two piercings simultaneously (e.g. both nipples), there can be a huge difference in terms of healing speed. I saw scabbing for 3ish months after my piercing despite soaking it daily in warm salt water and I wouldn't even begin to consider wearing a device of any sort until that stops.
Make sure you get the PA placed fairly deep down the shaft under the head. You want to have plenty of meat to support the weight stress you are going to put on the PA hole.
1. You’ll know. I didn’t want to bump my dick into anything. Wait until you’re healed enough to swap out your original jewelry. It took me 6 weeks. 2. I waited until after I stretched from 8 to 6ga. I’m going to recommend 3-4 months. 3. I don’t know. I waited to stretch to 2ga thinking I’d go into a Lori device. Also I got addicted to stretching and heavier jewelry. Anyway, you don’t need to stretch to that size. My theory is that when you’re ready to stretch into 4ga is when you could wear a shaft only device. That took me 4-5 months. Or maybe just once you’re really well healed up in narrow gauges. go see SafePiercing.org and ElayneAngel’s PiercingBible site and book. I highly recommend the GlansArmor and the Contender with the PA option. Jewelry grade stainless is safe. It’s not too heavy.
