I'm not sure if it is related to this new material, but I just received a cage and ring and they don't fit together properly so I am unable to get the magic lock into place. I probably could use a dremel to make it work but I shouldn't have to do that considering the amount of money they cost.
You're right, you shouldn't have to. I've reached out to my rep at Shapeways for guidance. The material is not new, and I've been doing prints with it for ~2 years. I haven't had any issues with it, specifically, before, but every once in a while before, a problem like this has popped up with regular MJF prints. I'm waiting to hear back from my Shapeways rep with their guidance, but it you could reach out to me through the shop with your order number and details (I currently don't have a way to look at orders), I'll keep in touch through there once I have an answer. My past experience tells me that Shapeways will want to make this right.
Shapeways is asking for as much information as anyone who's having this problem can provide. Pictures, and ,if possible, measurements - I know that may not be the easiest thing to do, but it is what they've asked for.
I will try and provide pictures. I can show you how far the lock fits inside the cylinder before it can't go any further. Showing the inside of the cylinder will be difficult. I understand where they are coming from, but it strikes me as them not believing me. If it fit together properly, I'd be wearing the device right now. I did reach out to you on the Shapeways site and I will get pictures to you as soon as I can. I can also tell you that when I put the pieces together for the first time, it was VERY difficult to slide them together and I had to do that many times before it started getting easier.
