Hi, My wife and I are currently setting out the details for a Wife led relationship. We are struggling at setting an allowance for me an how should that allowance be calculated. I will be issued with a pre-paid debit card which will be loaded with cash weekly. What should my allowance be used to pay for and what things do I need to ask for my wife to buy me...I mean things like clothes etc. How do any other couples out there manage there finances? Thank you Blebo
I transfer almost all of my money into my wife's account and keep a very small amount for me. She transfers money back as I need it for groceries or whatever around the house. She has the only credit card. We do not have a joint account and easy online free transfers work perfect for us.
I still handle the bills and the main checkbook, but Mistress Wolf lets me know when Her account balance drops to a certain level then i either hand her my next paycheck or write a check on the household account for Her. She buys food and misc. If there is something i want or need i have to ask prior to spending the money, unless it's an emergency
@blebo That would depend on your needs. Travel, your work, many things. Try to keep the allowance as low as possible.
This is one of the details MistressAli is working on at the moment, not so easy for us as we do not live together 24/7 so have lots for Mistress to take into account, Its a tough responsibility for a Mistress to take on, but the benefits for her should be worth it. I hope so anyway.
Having gone through out finances again we have come to the number of £5 per day. All Direct Debit will come off the main account so all my bills will be paid for me, car loan phone, netflix etc I will also be allowed £100 for petrol a month for work travel. The £5 will be money that is for me to spend on me. I am looking to curb the costa coffee, sneaky McDonalds and impulse buys on ebay. So £5 per day = £35 a week = £155 a month. Fair?
so in US $ $7.60 a day, $53.20 a week, and $235.6 a month free spending money, plus a fuel per diem... That's pretty gracious... If I have a $1 in my wallet I'm lucky!
We don't fret over $ except that we both live frugally. My wife handles the bills and we pool all income. I give her the receipt if I take a cash draw and offer her any amount she may need. The most extravagant thing I buy is Windex for windshield wiper fluid. No matter what kind of relationship, I think it is best never to be stingy or controlling of family money. It might be different if either of us was high maintenance. Ss
