    Guten tag alles,

I am in an EBM/Industrial band and were working on a new album. It's a concept album about the evolution of life. (A concept album is one that you would listen to from start to finish and tells a story, similar to an opera perhaps, but each song could stand alone.) The track were currently working on has spawned several debates and arguements within the band, so were looking for outside opinions on what the "meaning" of the song is, which ultimately changes the placement (or track number) on the cd.

Viewpoint A) is that the lyrics basically tell how one would be on a downward spiral, slowly growing more and more hostile until they finally snap.

Viewpoint B) is, at least in my opinion, a sick and twisted love song. Basically someone calling out for a Dominant partner.

I'm posting this here because we havn't received any opinions from the BDSM community, of which I'm obviously a member of, but the only one in the band.

    Lock me down
Lock me up and hold me down,
my scars of life are showing.
Keep me still while I scream and shout,
    my pain inside is slowing.
Without you my dark sweet friend,
    I wonder were I going.
    My stomach turns inside out,
    these pills are so controlling.

The purging of my chaos mind,
    I can't stand were I'm going.
    I clean myself inside out,
still this angst inside is growing.
    Without you I fall apart,
    I can't keep on going.
Me, the only gift I have,
    is so Eroding.

    Lock me down,
    Lock me down,
    Lock me down,
    Lock me down.

    Purging myself inside out,
still this angst inside is growing.
Injection stains on my broken mind,
    dilutes my way to growing.
Ripped out through my infected life,
my scars of life are growing.
    Inside these walls, in here,
    I'm still corroding.

    Lock me down,
    Lock me down,
    Lock me down,
    Lock me down.

    Lock me down,
    Lock me down,
    Lock me down,
    Lock me down.

Any opinions or advice is greatly appreciated.
If your not familiar with EBM/Industrial music, let me know. I could send you a few links to similar bands.

    Danke.

This is tuff as both points A and B are seen clearly. I don't think there is one that is more clearly defined then the other. However with that said the only part in my mind that says it is calling for a dominate partner is the lock me down lock me down. The other verses of the song, which in my opinion are the story line support the erosion of a persons mind thus supporting the downward spiral. Not sure if this helps or not but I think if I had to pick here I would say that theory A is closer to my view point. Hope this helps somehow!
