Never mind. I first thought it was going to be free for 24 hours, but she's just making it available for sale for 24 hours, and charging too much for it. I'm not going to support that kind of hype.
Yeah, but if it were any good and she cared about making a living, wouldn't she would be selling it every day? The reason many authors do offer free days is to get reviews and build word-of-mouth interest. Then you have it available for purchase at the regular price so that everyone who hears how good it is can buy it. But having it available for purchase for only one day at about 3 times what a quality non-fiction BDSM e-book should cost? I don't think so.
I also thought it was going to be free when I got the email... I pay less than that for most BDSM dead-tree books!
FYI - I have been researching the pricing for full Kindle books and most of the quality BDSM non-fiction is in the $8.50 t0 $11.99 range, with $9.99 being the most popular. My single e-book assignments are priced so low because they are just short assignments, and I often drop their price around the appropriate holiday because I want to encourage as many boys & gurls to take part as possible. Readers have the option of tributing to me if they enjoyed the assignment. I also generally make each of mine free for a day when I first publish it. In addition to using that day to get the word out about the book, I use that "beta testing day" to have multiple boys download it and test how the formatting looks on different devices. If there are any issues, we make any edits and have another free day so that anyone who has already purchased it can get an updated copy for free.
