I have worn steel cages in the sauna under swimming shorts, they did not get too hot. The only problem I had once was when I had a larger heavier cage on that was hanging a little low and it made a clunk noise when I sat down on the wooden bench.
K/h took me into a mixed “naked” sauna this year, unlocked me 1/2hr before we went in, locked me back up within 1/2hr later…. A truly fantastic & humiliating experience, best ever! To this very day I/we still talk about it. As for not, I’m not sure.
I don’t know, how it is in America, but here in Europa (central and western) 95% of saunas are nude saunas. Everyone walking around naked. From changing room to saunas. Also saunas are mixed, male and female. Male part is for male and female, but females have also their own rooms, with no males alowed to go in. If you see someone in swimming shorts, you know it is a teenager or an eastern tourist. There is also wet saunas, where you leave your towel at the entrance. The expirience of a nude sauna is much better than in swimming shorts, you have to try it.
At first it was a whole lot. I was pretty nervous the first couple of times. It didn’t take me long to get used to it. Once I did it was no big deal. It’s the same for nude beaches and resorts. Some people look longer than a glance. Most people don’t really spend a lot of time looking below eye level though. The sauna came after beaches and resorts. I was used to them. Nervousness crept back in because it’s indoors and you can find yourself in tighter spaces. That’s my guess looking back anyway.
From my experience most gyms have steam rooms and saunas. The have one for each female and male bathrooms. So they are clothing optional. If your nude most people wrap a towel around their waist and that's it. From what I've heard about it is that they are really only used by old men (who go naked) which is not a uncommon thing for a bunch of old guys walking around naked in a gym locker room, and or usually guys looking to hook up with other guys use the steam room/ sauna naked or only in a towel. I've seen plenty of guys in the sauna fully clothed and even one doing body weight exercises in there to really get the sweat going (he was in sweat pants and shirt.) Most normal places in America only offer same sex saunas. I'm sure there are coed ones but I bet you have to pay to use those. And I guess there are bath houses as well which I assume have saunas as well but again that's usually only visited by the homosexual community or people looking to hook up and again you have to pay for those as well.
Only problem I had was wearing an enclosed device sweat would collect in it and I found I was Having to request a hygiene release, as it would start to smell more.
Tested the metal Jailbird today for the first time in sauna. It was funny. The summary: In 60°C Sauna, where I can stay long, around 30 minutes, the cage will start warming at 20-25 minute mark. In 80°C Sauna, where I can stay for maximum 10 minutes, the cage didn't get hot in this 10 minutes. So apparently for metal cages, the primary factor is the time spend and not the temperature. I don't felt any discomfort at all. Only thing that heats up is the padlock from brass LOL. Another point for changing to screw instead of padlock. Also funny was, after I jumped in ice water, my genitals schrinked so hard, so one of the balls even got out of the base ring.
It’s never come up for me as an issue, but I suppose I think that the idea of naturist beaches and nude saunas is to be “natural”, so wearing a chastity cage goes against that, much as if one was to wear socks or a cravat.
This was answered by someone on a previous thread. If metal is in continuous contact with the skin it doesn’t heat up and burn you. So for example you could wear a metal neck chain and be fine. But if you were leaning forward so that a cross or medallion hanging from the chain was not against the skin, it would absorb heat and then burn you if you straightened up (I have experienced the latter).
Basic physics - at equilibrium the cage and you will be the same temperature, when first entering will feel warmer due to it conducting the heat to you faster. A
And how about full belts? I have the intention to go to the sauna with a full belt. Swimming clothes are required!
Well as I say, it’s not something that’s an issue in my life so that was just a notion that occurred to me. But thinking about it, I suppose it would depend on the jewellery. If it was small things you always wear, like a discrete neck chain or small earring that you’d keep on 24/7 or in the shower etc, that’d still be “nude” - but if massive, ornate costume jewellery then maybe that’d be a bit strange. I just think the whole ethos of public nude spaces is not about exhibitionism. I wear a cage 24/7/365 but wouldn’t display it at a sauna because to most people it’s a strange, unfamiliar thing and would draw people’s attention. Folk go to saunas to have a sauna, not look at other people’s bodies.
Of course if it’s one of those underwater saunas like SJG808 goes to, I suppose you’d have to wear scuba gear….
