I placed my order 3 weeks ago, I had all my measurements and requirements pretty much dialled in so I provided all those. Im really struggling with getting communication out of them now, I have had a few questions on various aspects and sometimes I would ask 2 or 3 questions but only get an answer to 1 and they are not as flexible on a few aspects as I thought they would be. I know there is a wait to have the device built which I am fine with but I thought it would be fairly quick/painless to at least get the spec dialled in, communication has got slower and slower, currently I have not had a response for over a week. Is this the standard experience others have had? hopefully it will be allrght in the end.
I’ve had similar experiences. In the beginning wuick response and after that no response at all. Finally i gave up…
I found him to be rather insufferable but I gather he’s extremely busy. hard to understand how he’s feeling. He needs to hire someone to manage communications.
Yeah im finding that too, im happy to leave him alone for 2 months once I get my specs confirmed its just proving really difficult
Guy has a short fuse. I made a comment on my cage about a feature that was irritating me and he flipped, acusing me of all sorts of ill will towards him. At the end the only thing he would accept was me destroying the device and he refunded me, it was truly painful to destroy it with a hammer. I always thought this was idiotic and childish of him. Tight wound ... no way to run a business, IMHO
Wow thats pretty bad. Yeah im kind of regretting ordering now, all the reviews I read said communication was great and he was helpful but thats not what im seeing, im not sure the device im going to get is actually going to be what I want at this rate.
Erm. He was fantastic for me. Placed my order. Gave him the details. Confirmed I had ordered the right cage as we had previously discussed a different version. He replied to all. I sent him two messages to update on timescales and he responded. He later messaged me to confirm my measurements Honeslty, his English is appalling and I gather that can be frustrating but I’ve had a completely different experience than those posted here. I would not change my BAWR cage. It’s perfection.
I was deliberately trying not to hassle him and trying to keep my messages simple and understandable but it seems I may have annoyed him and now being ignored, I hope thats not the case and hes just busy.
Finally heard back, final measurements hopefully dialed in, fingers crossed I have got it all right! Does he usually do you a final CAD mock up to check over?
No. From my experience the next you’ll hear from him is when he begins to make your device. He’ll just check one or two measurements. (For me he asked the cage length and frenum hook depth). I paid for expediated services so it didn’t take long to get to this stage. After that (probably a week later) he’ll let you know that it’s dispatched and your tracking number. I wouldn’t worry about the product you’ll receive, it will be perfectly sized to the measurements you have given.
Great thanks, I think I have provided virtually every conceivable measurement so fingers crossed. I didnt pay for the faster service, it has taken about 3 weeks to get to this point, hopefully only another few weeks left.
I bought two devices from him and I had a lot of custom requirements in between. I found him to be very responsive and helpful. He also shipped quite a few different test kits to me for free. I talk to him on Etsy as well. He is indeed very busy and it would be good if you just go straight to the point. I suppose it also helps when you purchase the expedited service I got both of my devices done in around 2 weeks.
