How did people find out about male chastity devices? Were there any amateur magazines about it? Did it exist?
Hi Mistress Lucy! http://www.vintagesleaze.com/vs mags.html http://www.rambooks.com/ i do not know how much there was information about chastity devices.
Hello There were advertisements I believe for full belts. The cage design seems to have come along around the time the BDSM scene moved onto the Internet. I don;t know if there was a culture of Dommes/Mistresses keeping males in chastity before that- I guess there must have been, or else there'd have been no demand for the belts....
There were magazines like.....'Forum' 'madame' ,etc... they touched on chastity... https://msscarletuk.wordpress.com/my-short-stories/
I guess the old Forum magazine an offshoot of Penthouse . That was an awesome publication. Very well produced and edited with a mixture of fiction and none fiction and of course pages of letters and answers . With about 6 or 8 medics and psycs and therapists for the problem pages. Tollyboy was the main player at the beginning I think . However some on here will have the full sp. Because a lot of stuff was illegal it was very much friends of friends and personal invite only parties. You had to have a good imagination reading adverts in exchange and mart and amateur photographer. Xx Wendy
Janus used to have the occasional readers letter from dominant ladies and some of them dealt with male chastity and penis punishments. Rita
Before the internet Soho had gained (much of) its reputation by being the locale of dozens of sleazy bookshops, many of which specialised in Femdom material. Hard to fathom that now a typical tumblr page or porn website contains what would have once been hundreds of pounds worth of 'underground' material. The owners were so fed up with men browsing the stock they used to shout 'Come on gentlemen, it's not a f......g library!' Swish publications produced assorted fetish and bdsm magazines, publishing out of their store on Old Compton St. There were also many imported American High Heel and tease mags, along with collections of Vintage bondage and fetish pics. Madame Magazine always had a tag for enforced male chastity, but there were no 'devices' readily available of any kind whatsoever. The magazine looks hopelessly amateur by today's standards, but it sold in its thousands. There were rather sinister sounding ads for full belts in Exchange and Mart, along with rubber wear, and exotic clothing, etc. Atomage Magazine (Latex bondage and gasmasks, etc) used to have occasional images of such full belts... The whole thing was very hush, hush and deliciously guilty. Atomage's offices used to get raided regularly by the police. The acrylic CBX range of ball trap devices that appeared around the year 2001 were the first mass produced CBs'. Hence them retailing for well over a hundred pounds at the time. They still do in some places. But before the Internet the possibility of ordering a steel device from China for £25.00 or less was entirely unthinkable. But of course in the old days we all drank flat brown beer, had fried bread every day and sucked polo mints to keep warm in the winter... Some things (some) are better now. G.
In the early 90's i used to get Femdom magazines and there were a few metal ones that were similar to the Lori's devices and they used a frenum piercing. There were also ones mostly made of leather straps and metal rings. i bought one and it wore down my skin after just a few days so it was only good for temporary play.
Before the Internet I too had become aware of chastity through the magazines mentioned by others , particularly forum and fem Dom contact magazines that contained stories or interviews . I started buying fem Dom magazines aged 15 in 1985 , I started with shiny magazine and progressed into cruella and goddess magazines . Something must have piqued my interest as sometime around 1990 I made my first device from a a plumbing pipe fitting and I formed a piece of aluminium bar into a cock ring which was secured with a pad lock . Some time later the first device I actual saw was a steel tube welded to a hand cuff . I played with it a bit but only really became interested around 20002 , finding the cb2000 on the Internet . I've been hooked ever since . As mentioned in previous posts I solo play as my wife has little interest in exploring the subject .
I actually discovered male chastity in a book on weird things doctors used to force on people! I had NO idea you could get modern versions.
I'm sure there were places to find chastity if you knew where to look. Personally i didnt know it existed until approx 12 years ago when i started using the internet. As a sub i was browsing femdom things and i found articles on chastity, that was it, i had to be in chastity, and for most of the time since i have been
