I don't know if any others have had this but I have noticed that recently I have found hotmail have been having an over-aggressive practice of fouling accounts, so much so that I have decided I needed to go to another provider. Logging into my accounts (I had several) they wouldn't recognize my passwords and no way could I get them back. So I started up some new ones, all of which also fouled. Tried three times Each time started up OK but would not hold. Going back into them got each time a message there had been 'unusual activity' on them and I needed to enter a mobile phone to get a code to get me in. This is a filthy practice. I do not have or need a mobile. They are forbidden where I work, I have a land line at home, and when on the road I am 80% of the time in areas where mobile reception is lousy or non-existent. So I can't get access to any hotmail account at all. No way can I contact these morons to get any sense from them. So I've given up and gone to gmail pro tem. And updated it on CM .As you'll all see. Meanwhile though anyone who's tried to email me at old hotmail email will get no response. Sorry to all, but I'm posting here so y'all know and so y'all also know that if you are using hotmail for email you're likely to have same problem without warning. Microsoft are not now worth the time of day IMO and becoming almost as bad as malware.
And you are surprised? Microsnot policy has always been if it's not broken, fix that. Skype was brilliant till they got their hands on it, now it's infested with problems. I use gmail, and whilst not perfect it works. Most people will know the three great lies ... I love you .... I promise not to come in your mouth ... and ... the greatest of all ... Microsoft Works! I am praying for the day my HP packs up so I can get an iMac to go with the pad and phone. Rant over! J X
Yahoo have started to do the same, either get a text or message to the phone app. I can't be bothered going all through that most of the time. I use other email accounts.
I use Yahoo, and they started to do the same. I don1t bother, they sayit is for making the mail more secure.
i don't have a Hotmail or yahoo account, I do have a single gmail account that I don't use. I prefer owning my own email address and have several from my own domains and my ISP. I can't stand webmail interfaces, so no freebie accounts for me
