I know we are in a very different kind of site here but we all know what is going on and cannot ignore it.

I like most want to just speak out and support the Ukraine People I do understand why our countries are reserved to go further in terms of feet on the ground etc but I truly feel that we are going to miss the boat as the saying is.
I don’t want to bring anything political to this site as it’s too difficult but I do hope there are ways that will sort this out before there are millions dead.

    How?

I’m not sure what we do.
Weak leadership has always resulted in tyrants taking advantage of it. Turning tail and running and leaving Billions of dollars of high tech weapons in Afghanistan didn’t make us look strong.

Bullies only get it when you’re willing to fight.

So kudos to the people of Ukraine who are putting up a hell of a fight.

Personally we need a way for Putin to save face while pulling out. Then for his people to remove him. Now that’s not support for him, but rather an observation of the situation.

The last thing we need is a nuclear war because of his ego and Biden’s incompetence.

And for the record. I’m not a fan of all politicians. So I’m not picking a “side” as I’ve never liked Biden. (I’m independent and don’t like either of the major US parties)

I’m in the U.K. and would support a full on war to be truthful I think the time for waiting is over and it’s time for full action.

Yes I would like to think it will be sorted by talking but I truthfully don’t think it will be this time and if we wait millions will die.

    sometimes only real action suffices.

as to the nukes well so many have them but is any one stupid enough I guess is the answer there

There is famous quote, evil prevails when good men do nothing, I am beginning to think history is repeating its self and the world is going to stand and watch once again.

The Russian economy will suffer for a while do to the sanctions but it will not stop Putin. I too believe the rest of the world has to step up and assist in a more positive way. Air support to take out Russian tanks and aircraft. I really don't know but if the Ukraine falls I believe it is only the beginning.
I don't believe for a minute that even Putin is crazy enough to go nuclear.

Very sadly I think you are right as so many spineless people run most countries and would be the first in the bomb shelters ahead of the kids and wouldn’t come out till it was over

the problem with putin and his cronies alike is they are rich enough to ride things out without it really effecting there own lives.
It’s always those at the bottom hit worst then the middle but never the top really as they find more ways of ripping off there own people to cover there loses always.

The cycle of life/history, bad times make strong men which lead to good times which lead to weak people which lead to bad times and the cycle repeats.

When you see mushroom clouds rising over cities near you at least you'll be able to say that it was all Putins fault.

Slightly different take: over and over sanctions never worked. Ever. Take a look at North Korea, Iran, or even Cuba.

And now private companies are jumping on board the fail train too- punishing the Russian people who are stuck with a bloodthirsty tyrant.

Take for example Disney and a number of other content producers… even Netflix, refusing to broadcast or distribute in Russia. What a windfall to a tyrant who’s propaganda had to compete against content showing the richness and freedom of the West! Ridiculously FUCKING STUPID. You aren’t hurting him you’re actually helping him marginalize and brain wash his people.

What would President Snuggler do? Either put a 1 billion dollar bounty on Putins head and invite Disney, Apple, and every other person who wants to to chip in…

or save a few bucks and just blow up his dacha with him in it Reagan style. One shot one kill.

To me it seems bizarre that we have special forces trained for eliminating problems yet those that could implement it are all scared stiff to tell them to. They have jelly for spines.

Which is why it’s happening as not one has the guts to do the right thing and putin can clearly see this.

We have a load of so called world leaders that can’t decide anything by themselves and spend there time sat on the fence enjoying the spotlight while they dither and talk rubbish and do nothing. All mouth and no action.
It’s amazing they manage to use the bathroom by themselves.

The reaction to the Covid has proved how inept the majority of world governments are and has proved that 99 percent in governments definitely should be removed.

Russia isn't like the defenceless nations the USA normally likes to bully/attack, it has advanced equipment and a highly trained military.

It's that kind of naivety that will lead to your cities being turned to ash.

Thank goodness your leaders know better than you.

So you have some sort of evidence that says the Russian military is even a 3rd rate force? Please share. They can’t even take Ukraine and it’s an adjacent country filled with sympathizers and a non existent military. To think Russia is a serious military power is a remarkable denial of reality.

i think the majority of there army is not interested in any war but of course can’t do anything about it other than not be too enthusiastic to fight once they are on the ground.
Not sure in reality how good they are though. Like everything if you don’t believe in what you are doing you will never give very good performance.

Most in reality are more concerned about idiots pressing buttons for nuclear and that’s always the risk.

Just a quick look at the internet suggests they are ranked #2 in many things and #1 in others, but you can use google, just like you can google to see how many nuclear weapons they have and get an idea of where most are pointed.

To deny Russia as a serious miliary power is the kind of deluded thoughts that will lead to your cities becoming ash.

Thank goodness you are not in change, trigger happy yankee.

    But, yeah, Murica' Fuck Yeah!

Yeah whatever you say Mr. Putin.

I just get this mental image of Baghdad Bob parroting all his remarkable crap on TV. But Putin doesn't need a Baghdad Bob as he's got lots of people parroting his propaganda without need for him to worry too much.

What will they be allowed to get away with, Finland, Slovakia maybe? Why watch this storm of needless destruction and human misery.
Nuclear is a deterant we have it, they have it and if anyone uses it were all dead. They know that, and so will the person that actually decides to press the button.
And Ukraine was persuaded by nato to give up its nuclear deterant, perhaps if they weren't convinced to do this they might not be in this mess.
Russia is no match at all for the combind forces of nato, Their forces are well armed but not motivated for this fight as they know its wrong.

NATO should say to Russia, you are committing war crimes in an illegal invasion. We are coming to kyiv in 2 weeks and you are advised not to be there.

In action to this could end up with this being repeated in other parts of the world by other regimes. And I would rather pay more for my food, and fuel and if necessary fight in a war than live in a world were stuff like this keeps happening. We should be working together to secure our future against global warming, deadly viruses and other natural disasters. And the only way to do this is get rid of putin and dick head like him.

Of course, we are worried about trying to push into Finland. I hope they have a clear sense of how painful it was for them last time. It's not going to be easy.
