    OMG this thread is up my alley cuz through music is how I first realized my intense attraction to Bad Girl / Independent / Dominant ladies.

    I was a huge fan of Joan Jett, Siouxsie Sioux, Blondie, Teri Nunn (Berlin), Anne Lennox of the Eurthymics, the Cranberries, Heart, Belinda Carlisle / Go-Go's, Cyndi Lauper, Lita Ford, Concrete Blonde, Til Tuesday, just on and on.

    Siouxsie's 'Happy House' is probably one of the songs that most defined my youth. Hoisted many beers, joints, and yes girls while listening to that song

    Belinda Carlisle - yep - Heaven is a place on earth. She has amazing eyes and amazing voice.

    Also Kate Pierson from the B-52s. Absolutely wonderful voice. Teamed up with REM at points - Shiny Happy People.... Me in Honey.

    One from the Naughties is Cara Dillon who sang 'Man in The Rain' on Tubular Bells 3. Great song, great voice. (wiki'd that one).

    Right, this might be a long, heavy-metal laden post...

    Of course, no discussion about women in rock is complete without mentioning Nightwish, IMHO. Especially with Floor Jansen on vocals. (But I may be prejudiced there)

    Damn, Cindi Loo Hoo all grown up!!!

    To me, there is something about a woman, lead singer of a metal band because metal is such a powerful form of music. The second I hear a female voice and the music rocks, I am hooked

    Joanne SHaw Taylor is an extraorinary one for sure. Had a short session with her some years ago, when she stumbled over a friend of mine and me having a session with deep purple songs in a church in cologne.

    Apart from that Evanessence and Nightwish are great for sure.
