Women, do you hate the term PIV as much as I do?

When I first saw it, I had to look it up on google lol! I could tell what it was in general because of context of the sentences, but wasn't exactly sure what each letter stood for.

Same with cis...I haven't looked that one up yet but seen it enough to know what they are talking about.

 

I agree with you. I can't see any reason to use such a peculiar acronym. What I find even odder is that when it is used it's normally in a context that implies that such sex is weird and deviant!

Much as I enjoy oral sex, masturbation, toys and so on, call me old fashioned but I still prefer having a cock inside me.

I think it gets used a lot around here because "having sex" around here most often does not involve "PIV."
How bout if we change it to something like DIP? I dunno.

 

i don't know what any of them letters means and theres millions of them now. i think its a nuisance and why don't folks write the proper words down and not just letters.

 

It probably came about because here someone normally says I had sex...but here that could mean almost anything...and not include actual penetration.

So when that happens...it wasn't just sex! It was sex where I was involved!

It does sound a lil clinical though. Maybe something silly and fun...FODIP

The term is used to describe the TYPE of sex ... and even though I use it in a place like this (a forum discussing things sexual) I would (and do not) ever use it when talking to anyone in a real life situation ... AND ... would never use it talking to my KH ... because as stated it is a turn off, even to me.

I think though you need to take into account that having sex or making love doesn't necessarily involve PIV

 

I always thought it was just because the nature of many of our sex lives has lead to a great broadening of what “we had sex” could mean. I certainly know that @Thatgirl considers pegging “sex”, so I always have to be careful when groveling for sex that I designate which sex, or the results could be ass backwards from what I’d hoped!

 

PiV or PiA is just a simple quick way of explaining a lot and offers room for speculation and oir invites more comment.
I don't hink it is anything to get worked up about unless of course there is a consensus of opinion the phrases should go.

I have always liked and sometimes been asked about TTTWD this thing that we do as an all encompassing phrase for all the chastity related things we all do between us on this site.

Where does the use of abbreviations end and the use of words return? Before we get an entire thread where only a few people have clue what was said and about what?

Sorry but making love or we had sex can mean so many things. Did you do just anal, oral, foot job, hand job, etc.? Sorry but I do not get what the problem is. When we had sex it could be anal, PIV, giving oral, getting oral, foot job, whipping, nipple torture, hand job, choking, CBT, ball busting, water sports, mammary intercourse, edge play, pegging, breath play, face slapping, spitting, etc.. I guess if you sexual repertoire is limited, "having sex" will do, but for many of us our palette is full of so many colors that we have to be more specific. Saying PIV is no different than saying we had oral sex. The term is used all over the internet and this is the first time I ever heard a complaint and still do not see what someone would take exception when it is usually necessary to know what kind of sex. "We had sex" does not let anyone know that I just got punched in the balls, like I did last night.

 

This is getting confusing! I am not keen on TLA's (which is the TLA for three letter acronym), partly because they are sometimes confusing and partly because to me at least in the context of this thread we started by discussing whether the term was, if not objectionable, at the very least not appreciated by females.

Swapping one TLA for another still doesn't get to the root of the problem. What is wrong with using real words to describe real deeds?

I only use PIV because that was what others used, and I knew it would be understood. I didn't like it either, so cold in comparison to the act itself. I would never use it as a description if I was talking to Elle. I do however also agree with the point that we have to define what we mean by having sex. I am having the best sex of my life since Elle took control, but it rarely involves my penis.
