    Really want to go down the Cherry Keeper route. I love the design and the interchangeable cages, and add-on's the work of a real craftsperson. But, I don't know where to start. I'm really comfortable with the HTv4 but perhaps the 45mm ring could be tightened slightly. I just get lost trying to work out what I want.

    @Jah Rubbings, good post and following for sure as similar interest. I get equally as confused on what ring since HT gives you a dimension but I don't know how it translates to what they offer.

    A little tricky to translate the ring sizes. You can wrap a string around and get an idea of what the circular measurements would be. My first cherry keeper, I bought two or three rings and ended up liking the bigger one. A little extra money, but with the wait times it’s worth it I think. The cages themselves, I have a short and a small. I think the small is probably pretty close in size to the nano.

    Regarding length, the CK Stub is slightly shorter than the HT Nano.

    HT cage lengths are non-standard (i.e. not ring to tip) so are not directly comparable.

    ah, well then you would have to do a bit of measurements to get the difference. that being said, cherry keepers are fairly inexpensive, especially for the quality. So getting what you think might work then goin up or down from there wont cost overly much.

    The dimensions of a cage are quite numerous. They go well beyond mere length and width. They are oval. They are round. The opening is wider at the base and narrow at the tip. How much? It's hard to say. There are actually a LOT of dimensions is making a cage. Round tip? Tapered tip? How much taper? Does it taper to a point or to a smaller diameter circle compared to the opening? Etc.

    Comparing via dimensions is nearly impossible. Follow the published guides by each manufacturer. That's the best advice I can give.

    As an example. I used to manufacture shoes. A shoe last (the fake foot a shoe is build around) has over 108 separate dimensions per size.

    Get close. Then experiment.

    yes exactly. it took me about 4 different cherry keepers to get the right size.

    While I may or may not be speaking for the both of us, I also have ended up with several cages. But I suggest that others don't worry about that. It's not so much that one did or did not fit, it's that my moods change and I want a different fit depending on what's happening at the time.

    Example: It's easiest to sleep in my smallest cage and ring combo. It's easiest to pee with my standard cage. (will I be at the bar drinking? I want to wear my standard cage.) Do I need to stay locked for several days with my keyholder gone? Then I use my 'in between' set up. Etc.

    So I am rather glad to have tried multiple cages. I hope you were as well.

    Nice thread to follow.

    I am still very interested in the cherrykeeper devices. The open design looks nice and the headlock mechanism is very interesting. As mentioned in other postings, I am also confused about the numerous ring and cage sizes. headlock adds an extra layer of measurement confusion to get it right.

    Like the OP I am currently wearing a ht4 nano.
    But ours is a chinese rip-off. The oval ring i prefer, because it is comfy, measures 45x40mm.
    Maybe I would try a tiny step tighter and get 2 rings.

    @SissyKayli
    I would also consider the "small" version to be closest to the nano, from the sizes in the description. However I learned that gap size and such factor are also very important. No idea about that.

    @Jah Rubbings
    Have you decided on a size yet?
    I'll definitely take a look at the cagefinder website. Hope I get the measurements correct.

    @Lazlo Toth
    I'll consider your size recommendations.
    In my case something like short + small + standard, i guess. :+1:

    @Draconyx
    4 cages? :eek: I hope I'll find a nice ring & cage size combination.
    But if used like @Lazlo Toth does, it would be fine.

    @JosieLynn Jewell
    Your cage design looks just amazing. Nice work. Thanks.

    In all, I have purchased well over 4 cages. most of them are metal knock offs of various cages, and most of them are in the trash at this point.
