What is the difference between plastic and steel cages...and when should a sissy hubby be switched to a steel cage?

biggest difference is metal ones are easier to keep clean. Plastic ones tend to get a bit sweaty.

Metal is more secure, easier to clean, and makes sissy psychologically more submissive. I am kept in stainless steel Nub or smaller cap type device.

I read about after a couple months your ring size can shrink so would it be best to wait until my six month release to pick one and switch?

For me the ring size did not change, switching to steel is not that expensive, go to DH Gate web page and you will find many devices at reasonable prices.

I have had the same ring size for many years. I have also lost almost 40#'s and the ring still fits like the day i got it.
We keep the old CB6000s as my back up belt and travel belt for TSA. It's always back into the steel cage. I can keep clean in it for long periods of time.

To me it’s all down to personal preference, yes metal is more secure, I went from plastic to metal, and then back to plastic.

I went from plastic to custom steel.

My KH is aiming for "months without even a second of release" so security and hygiene are important.

HTv3 knockoff - smelly and nasty, not very secure, poor build.
3D printed - smelly and nasty, not very secure, good build
Vice - not as smell and quite secure, okay build.
cheap steel ones from ebay/amazon - more secure, not smelly, but generally poor build.
Badassworkroom, anchored to a frenum piercing - not smelly, very secure, great build.

Custom steel all the way :)

All the previous comments are spot on...steel is excellent for long term daily wear because it is more secure, easier to clean and maintains better hygiene. However, since you mention your husband is a sissy, the plastic ones are fun to have for play time. Putting that sissy hubby in a pink plastic cage is an excellent way to emasculate him and remind him exactly who is in charge.

    Best regards,
    Phen

i have both, i like the steel one's better cos, more hygenic and i love the weight of a metal cage a constant reminder that i'm in chastity

I am in my steel Nub most of the time and keep the CB6000s for travel. SInce the Nub is so much smaller in size, it makes for a smoother look down there when I'm in exercise clothes and leggings.
