So, what's your favourite meals/dishes/cakes do you make for you and your partner?

No originality claimed for this thread. Born from this: https://www.chastitymansion.com/forums/index.php?threads/learning-how-to-cook.49332/

Thought it might get a bit hijacked, so let rip with your best here. No cock shots required, nor a description on your attire whilst cooking thanks.

We're making a Mediterranean inspired Chicken Souvlaki tonight. Easy and quick to prepare easy to cook.

Skinless & boneless chicken thights cut into strips, marinade with a couple of spoonfuls of olive oil, add the zest and juice of a lemon, some paprika, oregano, cayenne, cumin, a garlic clove and a dash of salt. Leave for at least 30 mins, then thread on skewers and grill.

Serve with some Greek flatbreads with shredded lettuce and tomatoes.

As an added touch I also with a cool beer and a white wine, although red is good too.

    Enjoy,
    A

You name it, I cook it. As a dad of two athletic teenagers (swim and soccer) they will eat most anything I cook. The last 3 years, we have replaced our beef (red meat) with Venison (ground or steak form).

    1. Spaghetti and meat sauce
    2. Steak (backstrap) and shrimp in a parm cream sauce with penne
    3. Chicken bacon ranch (chicken cubed with broiled potato, peppers and onions and bacon. Seasoned with powder ranch packets and cheese
    4. Chili
    5. Stir fry with fried rice
    6. Salmon croquettes
    7. Sausage and peppers pasta
    8. Chicken. Fried backstrap
    9. Creole shrimp and grits
    And many many more things.

I tried to upload some mouth watering photos but they are all too large.

My wife and key holder really enjoys a good steak cooked on the grill and marinated beforehand, along with a salad and baked potato.

As I was fisching yesterday and have been lucky we had ceviche, yellowtail sashimi and planked yellowtail today.

But what our favourite food we cook ? Personally I love to make barbecue and asian cuisine, but as you will get those things here in really awesome quality (which is the reason why we do not cook as often anymore as we used to) i would go for rather traditional german food which you would not get here in this quality:
    - sauerbraten
    - schnitzel and potato salad
    - game with a good sauce and red cabbage
    - penne all arrabiata with some guanciale - not german, but easy to make an we love it ! ;)

Whatever she wants. Been shrimp until she developed an allergy during pregnancy, burgers, steak, chicken, Chinese, smoked meats, fondue, Italian, mexican, breakfast. Been cooking since I was a kid, I'll try making anything she asks for, last night it was beef and bean enchiladas.

I loved the Singapore food when I was out there a. And German food too when I was in Munich. Difficult to find in a lot of countries I would imagine.

We once made that when Gordon Ramsay was doing his live cook-a-long shows. It was such a laugh trying to keep up with him and then the mess afterwards.

All nice too. One thing we don't make a lot of is the Mexican or Tex-mex. Don't know why because we would like it. Must be we're thinking of something else at the weekend when we would have time.

I’ve been cooking Italian food since I could reach the stove, so I usually pull out something from memory. It varies based on the meat I happen to have on hand. If it’s sausage, I’ll make a nice sausage and peppers rigatoni. Shrimp, mussels, or scallops and I’ll make a wine based butter and garlic sauce with linguine. Pork cutlets I’ll pound flat, roll with proc. And pan sear with roasted fennel and rissuto. Chicken I’ll use an Alfredo sauce with fresh herbs with a crusty bread.

If I was getting fancy I would make Sicilian tomato and shrimp soup, but it’s a super pain in the ass. Homemade lasagna is another labor intensive meal, especially making your own pasta.

But home made pasta is so good and changes a mediocre lasagna into a great one.

    I'm drooling here

I've perfected the art of smoking a turkey for American Thanksgiving over the past 30 years. My family really enjoys it so we have it every year. When it first comes off the smoker, the taste and tenderness is the best. We enjoy the leftovers for several days. I use the carcass, wings and drumsticks to make a soup that we freeze and eat for weeks. Again, it's taken some time to find a recipe that we both really, really enjoy. Right after Christmas, we buy a couple more turkeys on sale, freeze them and repeat the process during the winter months and never get tired of it. Smoked meat is really satisfying! With very busy work weeks, there's not time to cook many nights so finding meals that keep and are enjoyable reheated are often on our menu.

I'm doing something similar with Christmas ham this year to my wife's delight. It lends itself to more options that I can be creative with. Smoked ham with roasted root vegetables, ham and navy bean soup with homemade corn bread, and potato soup are all favorites during the winter months. Great comfort food.

My mom was an amazing cook. Practically a professional chef. So she taught all of us many basics.
The most important was how to follow a recipe and then adjust it.

So I d add do all of our cooking. I prefer to grill so grilled chicken, steaks and pork are staples. I love Italian and make homemade sauce for all the Italian dishes.

Lately I’ve been searching online for new recipes. Things like Sesame Chicken and other Asian dishes have been the norm. As have as many healthy fun dishes that I can find!

Something my mother taught me was that the best dish was one you liked. That can be extended to beers, wines and whiskies.

One excellent book I have is Culinary Reactions my Simon Quellen Field. He explains the chemistry of cooking and why some ingredients are essential even if you think they are only flavouring i.e. lemon juice and salt.
