(long time lurker, first post). For those based in the USA who needed to fill out a customs form, what did you use for the 'detailed' description' section of the form? I'm not sure if 'Male Chastity Belt' would pass without further questions.. I've sent an email to Behind Barz with the same question, but figured i'd also ask here just in case they're slammed with belt construction Thanks! Doomie.
BB used metal artwork as the customs info. They need to send customs paperwork if your shipment is being held. Just ran into that issue 2wks ago
I used “body jewelry” when sending mine to Steelworxx for adjustment. Seemed to go through fine. just reminder, if returning to the maker for adjustment, make sure you tick the box for “repair” so neither one of you gets charged customs again.
All sorted, thanks for the replies! I simply used the same wording as on the main shipping label: 'metal sculpture'. Sailed through customs the same day.
I don't have much experience with US customs, so don't take my advice without doing some additional research. The TSA goes out of there way to say that chastity devices are OK. I find it unlikely that there would be wildly different policies on chastity between the TSA and Customs. That being said, I have yet to see anybody here say that "Chastity Device" was the description the seller used to get it through customs. ...And "Lock" is certainly an accurate (if incomplete) description. Maybe it would be helpful to everyone if we started keeping track of what description was listed on the customs forms, and how long it took to clear customs.
Just received my BB belt and ran into a complication where the new electronic declarations weren't processed by FedEx at the time of shipment. I worked with the BB folks to send the PDF to me and the specific FedEx import agent directly and cleared it up. Only other thing - the description was "metal sculpture" and that raised the question if it was an original. The correct answer is "no" it is a production piece, meaning not unique and that avoids another declaration.
Hello! We have been having issues with FedEx causing us no ends of problems shipping to the US, they've recently implemented a "Paperless" Shipping process to save the environment, However they've ran into some hiccups along the way, If anyone has any issues please feel free to email/ message! We are trying our hardest to get them all through in a timely manner but its something out of our control at the moment! For some reason they leave it up to you to sort of the declarations which we can do easy enough! thanks all!
