Tube vs. Cage

For the last year, I have been locked in a custom stainless wire cage that I am very happy with. Out of curiosity, I recently bought an A272 Chinese tube style device. I'm pleasantly surprised at the quality of this unit for $12.

During my first week of wearing it without release, I have reached a very high level of frustration and subservience very quickly.

The cage device allows some sensation from clothing rubbing, and teasing through the bars. You can still see yourself through the bars which offers some comfort. The tube device eliminates all external sensations. All you can see is shiny stainless. It's pretty much solitary confinement.

If you have tried both, plastic or metal, have you noticed a difference in how you adjust?
