    I was at my parents house this evening and heard a commotion outside. They have a huge tree in the front garden and a cat had climbed halfway up it. Crows and magpies were going crazy, I've never heard a racket like it. Birds joined in from other trees as well.

    That sounds fantastic , did you pilot the plane ? getting a pilots licence for a small aircraft is something I have always wanted to do but never did ,

    i had to clean the oven this morning and that's the job I don't like doing at all cos the stuff that you puts on smells a lot. and i has to wear gloves as well cos its danger to skin. and i'm glad when its done cos then i don't has to do it again for a bit.

    I few weeks ago I saw a (flying) bird get caught in a lightning strike. It did the whole "burst into a cloud of feathers" thing that I had assumed only happened in cartoons.

    @Steve-0 and @LadyS, when you found the lost kid after 2 hours was he wearing his soccer pad?

    I have some 1950s Juke Boxes, recently I filled one with Elvis 45s and had it on free-play all afternoon. If you don't like Elvis then I don't recommend it.

    Very nice @frankie teardrop - I love old juke boxes. A mate of mine had one in my youth full of 60's and early 70's soul and ska. Sounded so much better through old speakers with accompanying rattles and whirring.

    @steve-O, Yeah, sorry mate, I meant 'hockey' not 'soccer'. I see the confusion having re-read everything, you never actually say that you ever started looking for the 'lost kid', only the lost kid's hockey pad, so I'm assuming the pad was as lost as the kid was ... and since @LadyS located the hockey pad in a mere 10 minutes I'm equally assuming the aforementioned lost kid came attached to the pad. Where were they?

    Another trivial thing I like to do on my day off (and even more so on a work day) is write endless diatribe. If you could just clear up one last detail that was perhaps partly responsible for my initial confusion, one ball is bigger than the other, right?
