    In the interest of helping build a sense of community and fellowship at CM I thought I'd try this out.
    If it dies a death then so be it, but I'm sure there's more to life than we usually discuss here.

    Yesterday I got up at 4.30am, drove for 2 hours in order to go out and throw myself off a perfectly good boat into the sea.
    It was warmish at a depth of 13m, 18c, and we could see about 2m to 3m around us at most. What we saw was the remains of a Dutch man of war that sank in around 1690, mainly cannon. Loads and loads of cannon. Proper old style. And crabs, and tom-pot blennies - loads and loads of them, big ones too with their big googly eyes. We blobbed around for the best part of 40 minutes enjoying the murk and the rare dive-site, a protected wreck with a no-take policy enforced by law with hefty fines and a good stretch for transgressors. Naturally all we took were good memories. The weather was grand, the company was decent and we all came home safely for tea and medals - ok, a pint of cider and a plate of chips.
    A great day out.

    I baked a cake - a Victoria sponge to be precise and also made some rocky road whilst here in London. Gotta love home baking.

    I saw a light in the skies of Denver a couple days ago just hovering for a few minutes then disappear. It looked too big to be a drone and made no sound.

    I drove down the M6 and noted that there were cones everywhere. It takes longer and longer to get anywhere. @SubVerity where are you ???

    We went for a walk along a canal with numerous locks this morning and one of them had been used incorrectly and was nearly empty. A real nuisance seemingly to top the canal up to refill the lock

    The path was muddy in parts after the overnight rain. Other parts were nicely dry.

    It's terrible when that happens on a long stretch. Can properly mess up a number of peoples day/days. At least on short stretches the damage is contained somewhat, but it can still be days to sort out.

    Yesterday I left my Sisters house at 11am and then, after getting a ferry across the Channel, drove home to Germany, through France, Belgium, The Netherlands and, of course, Germany. The pigging Kennedy Tunnel in Antwerp was closed and I didn't get home until 11pm.

    It was worth it though.

    I went to work, had some arguments (normal - I manage contracts and spend lots of other peoples money), then spent most of the day sorting out other peoples problem as there seemed to be a constant queue at my desk....then went home. Quite boring.

    Just learned what that cake was Sunday on the Great British Baking show on Public TV. We get them about a year after you see them. There are some strange cake and pastry names in your neck of the world. :)

    Woke up at 11am. Did some security work with a federal government agency, for my company. Fixed a printer problem in our HQ far away. Got some new Knives for my collection and re-arranged my knife display to accommodate them. Lubricated a few of them, ate Pasta and then watched TV until now. Typical day right now to the severe lightning storm for the last 6 hours. Florida is overwhelmingly the lightning capital of the US. It ranks 6th in the world. I thought I had seen big lightning storms up north but nothing like what I see here. It is so bad that the TV stations show the running total of strikes that can easily reach 10,000 in just a few minutes.
