While enjoy being locked up in my Lori's 2B, I am not quite ready to be locked in permanently. I have been locking myself on and off for a while now, as I don't have a key holder, and it looks like the repeated efforts have taken their toll on the security screw. I do one day want to be locked permanently, but first I would like to have a key holder to give myself to, and I also think that I want to get pierced to add that extra element of control before going permanent. I locked my self back up tonight, and I seem to have stripped the head of the security screw. I think the longest I have managed to stay locked up without removal for inspection in the past has been two weeks. Once I realised what I did to the screw, I did have a little freak out, but I'm starting to calm down a bit now. I don't want to destroy my device in the process of removing the screw, as I still want to be able to use it, and as i said I would like to eventually find a key holder to experience true chastity with. I have sent Mistress Lori an email asking for some advice, but thought I would share my experience here also with others who would possibly understand where I am coming from.
only thing i know of is something called easy outs. They are designed for stripped screws and bolts with broken off heads. you can find them any where they sell automotive tools.
I hope you get a good response from Ms Lori, you are dealing with stainless steel, permanent might have already arrived ! :-O
easyouts require you to drill a hole in the center of the screw.good luck. i would first see if i could get a set of vice grips to grip on the head of the screw.
Hum hold device in vice obviously still attached to your boy bits drill hole , one little slip OM fuuuuking G . Good luck with that one ! Try getting it as hot as possible in the bath . Good old physics the out side will expand more than the screw . Might just be enough. Xx Wendy
How much of the screw head is accessible? If there is a bit then vice grips would be the best idea.. drilling should be avoided. It gets very hot very quickly and if you don't gave a very sharp bit you stand a good chance of snapping the bit... while it's turning and you're pushing down. You get the idea. Maybe a photo of the damaged screw will help give an idea if how stuck you are.
thanks for the replies so far all. The head of screw is recessed so vice grips etc are out. I agree with trying to avoid drilling if I can, but it may be the last resort. Gulp... I'm probably going to ride it out for at least a week or two and perhaps try a few other methods first.
here are some other ideas. http://www.todayifoundout.com/index.php/2010/02/the-12-best-ways-to-remove-stripped-screws/
A thin rubberband stretched over the security bit / key will usually do the trick. If not with a Lori's tube screw being recessed you can drill out the screw and use a easy-out. A friend thought a good idea to jb-weld his lori's tube on. 4 months later, death in the family and had to fly. We got the device off without damaging the device and just replaced the screw with another one from the hardware store. Another note, go to hardware store (lowes/homedeop) and pick up an security bit set ($6.95) and can try the larger bit also. The security screw - not so secure when you think about it. lol
Stripping a screw as you turn it tight does not prevent it from being turned loose or vice versa. Simply turn it out and be careful. I have tons of experience with this very issue; I work on helicopters for a living.
One of Lori's old versions now discontinued (was when she had an old locking system) utilised the breakoff screws securing the business end through a frenum piercing. With one of the new type - easy enough not only to foul the thread but also to JBWeld the keyhole, or fix as per Sunny's been done with a MM.
you could try dipping the screwdriver in some fine sand and try unscrewing. the sand might just give enough bite to let the screwdriver turn. having not seen how lori screw goes in kinda limits advice i can give you. but next size up might fit with a bit of effort and let you unscrew it. if drilling slow speed and lube are your best friends here along with some helping hands!!
There are several products specially made to remove stripped screws. The are a thick liquid with a gritty substance in it. One is called E-Z Grip and another is Screwgrab. I have used these types of products for years and can tell you that they can make all the difference in getting a stripped screw out.
My advice Accept it as permanent & get used to it Just like a tattoo I am in permanent chastity for last 23 months Will be celebrating 2 years in November 2016
This happened to me about 2 years ago. I also had to fly and remove the device. The easy outs didn't work as the screw has a centre guide pin in the head and drilling a small hole for the easy out was impossible without breaking the drill bit. The only solution without making the matter worse was to drill out the screw from the other side, the screws are 304 and not 316 so they are softer. It took about 30 minutes of very careful work, but eventually managed to drill away the screw and some of the thread in the device. I sent the device back the Ms Lori who then repaired it and sent it back good as new. It is an interesting situation though when it dawns that this is a serious problem.
My Lori's had a problem that felt like the screw head was stripped. But it was just the angle of the key. There's a very fine line of being in the correct position to un screw the device. I eventually got the right angle and the device came off easily. Once off you can find the right alignment and get better at finding it again. It's a scarry thing though.
As a carpenter, I deal with stripped screw heads a lot. I would try taking the screwdriver bit/key, inserting it in the screw head to the best alignment possible and giving in a firm tap with a hammer. This is often enough to re imprint the screw head enough to get a grip. Also when you try and undo the screw push into it with a lot of force as you turn it.
add a dab of super glue or JB weld on the the screw head and insert the key. Once it dries, unscrew it.
I use a security screw for my Jailbird. Check out Vampire tools. They make a range of screw extractors that will grab the smallest of edges of the screw head and allow you to unscrew it. I have uses it and it works great. Even if there is no screw head to grab, they sell something that you can hammer in and then unscrew it. I do a little gunsmithing and deal with screw nightly locked in that are counter sunk and held in place with LokTite. I have learned all the tricks to removing even the most damaged of screws. The screw for my Jailbird is made of very hard steel. There is no way to strip it. It has a multisided prong in the middle and the key has an opening that fits over it. Basically works like a lug wrench. I use LokTite so it is very difficult to unscrew my security screw and still nothing has stripped..
