Just a small point, speaking strictly from my pov and using latest firefox, currently chastitymasion.com is faster than facebook.com, and by far is my preference. I would be glad if things stay the same, but improvements are always appreciated. :)

I'd not touch facebook.com with a bargepole. But this site has still recently become V slow and laggy,May be server, may be some other cause like bombardment by bots which I see another Member has suggested & you've replied thanking him/her & asking for PM.

  3. I must say, I've been a member here since almost the beginning. The performance is horrific and as bad as I can remember. I think there may have been one time that was worse, and it was around an upgrade or migration, I don't recall exactly.

Anyway, the bots can be blocked. Look up no index and blocking and how to do them for the mesessage board software.

An admin mentioned a PHP and database issue. Try doing some maintenance on the database. Backup, first if possible.

Stopping and restarting the web server sometimes clears memory, buffers etc.

Finally, depending on how it's served, rebooting the server or virtual machine might help.

I'm not sure if this helps but they're the first things that come to mind as I get ready to turn in.

In any case, please do something as it's brutal

  4. its is very very slow and sometime in the chatroom my words that i write vanishes and i don't know where they go.

  5. I would have to disagree with Facebook being as slow as the mansion ... the only way that they would be comparable is if you are trying to run the full desktop version (not the mobile) of Facebook (full video etc.) on a slow cellular connection, on an older device ... my old tablet loads full version of Facebook slow ... but still not as slow as the mansion ... and on good connection even the tablet can run Facebook but the mansion is still slow ... just did a load time test on the mansion ... average was 17 seconds at the time of the test ... while there are times it is a third of that ... it should never be that slow.

  6. Ok so facebookle may be a bit faster, that is true. But loading a video or even a photo on what is arguably the largest social media site in the world and it still gives me the circle of death no matter how much I allow or adapt my os. Not to mention the targeted advertising and invasive collection of profile data that is happily spit back at you with complete with emotional soundtrack. oh and don't forget you might want to add more friends to your 'list'...sigh. It is given nowadays that you every move on the internet is watched and tracked, but 'social media' sites just recycle data for monetary gain at your expense. Comply! You get a cookie! What a world. Yeah today I really notice the loading time has increased. Hope you get better soon Mansion.

  7. I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest, based on where I see the delay occurring in the request/response cycle, that it's a problem with the certificate or something else in the TLS handshake process. I haven't been on the site on a desktop machine in a while (I mainly access it using Safari on an iPhone), and I haven't put a sniffer on it, but I notice that when I request a page it sometimes hangs up for quite a long time before coming back with the lock icon that indicates a secure connection has been established. After that the page loads at normal speed.

I also know that some users recently have reported getting certificate errors, which also points that direction.

What's odd is that sometimes everything loads instantly just like it's supposed to.

    Just my $0.02, fwiw.

Also, I haven't yet lost any text while posting, but then I haven't been posting much recently.

And another thing -- I have noticed a larger than usual number of double posts recently. Not sure if that's coincidental or somehow related to this problem

  8. I got in touch with @Administrator@Administrator and see the problem. The issue is intermittent so page load times could "beat" facebook or may timeout. It will be a few days minimum before resolution... It turned out to be rather complicated. Once changes are made I will post back on this thread.

  11. I made changes a few hours ago and the load has remained significantly down. The site should remain "more usable" for the time being while we investigate a longer term fix.

  12. Thank you! It is performing quite satisfactory right now for me.

  13. It does actually seem to be working for me too.
    A temporary glitch perhaps?

  17. What's the arm band for, did someone die?

  18. Thatgirl -- thanks for the positive feedack. I expected this thread to just go quiet if things started working again.

Mascara^Snake -- It's not a temporary glitch if we made changes to better to the site. It's an improvement :)

Absolutely. Huge vote of thanks to @tcpsynack@tcpsynack for freely giving his time and skills to the site and assisting @Administrator@Administrator as soon as he joins.

That's the wonderful thing about this place - so many great people here.

The speed is great now. Any faster will be dizzying!!
