Thr cane is terrible, I hate it. My wife loved it but only for punishment spankings, maintenace was wooden brush, paddle and sometimes a carpet beater and that hurts. It´s like a cane turned around. Getting the cane and then the next day have a maintenance spanking is not fun, particulary if don´t enjoy the pain.
Totally agree on the cane, I can only take it if tied down , mistress only uses it for serious punishment and takes great delight in the fact I really dislike it thankfully it is not something she uses often but when she does its used with full force and I find it a true disciplinary tool and never repeat the offence it was given for
I do wood working so my Queen had me make my own wooden paddle. She uses it for 'attitude adjustments' as well as in a dice game we play. I have so far been unfortunately only twice to feel the cane. Once for punishment and another time to compare the two canes. She has two wooden dowels that are her canes; a 3/8" (10mm) and a 1/4" (6.4mm). I think the 1/4" is the worst. It will leave welts for a few days, but the 3/8" has more force and is also quite painful. Both are quite painful but in different ways.
Yes, a cane is not just a cane. Thin one stings more and thicker gets under your skin. The ticker give you four options and it seems not all work the same. I have two windows open one with the ticker codes and the other my profile in edit mode. I cut and past all of them and then you can do a preview and just delete the ones that don't work

Usually I use a leather paddle, an old big wooden hairbrush, a tawse, another leather strap, a leather belt and what he dreads most of all, the Brown Spanking Paddle. It's a short rubber whip, only one strand, 6mm thick and maybe 30cm long. It doesn't need hard strokes, but where the tip hits, it feels like my skin split open...
