We use Madam, with ma'am to be used in public (not that I do use it). It is what Madam chose to be refered to by a while back. She didn't like the term mistress.
My Wife doesn't mind being called "Boss".... Easy to use in public and between us we know what it really means.
in private it's always Mistress. in public i call Her Sweetie or Sweetheart but in the third person it's alway's "my Lady", as in "my Lady will have a Ketel One and Cranberry".

LOL - the point was not for 'almost total strangers' to come up with the nickname - the point was to ask a large group of people for suggestions. I am sure you know about things I do not, and vice versa - together the group knows more then each of us alone. And to that point, I had not thought of 'Boss'. js
