I'm having trouble slipping out the top of my steel device during a shower. While this makes hygiene very easy, it also means that it's possible to cheat. I think it's just the weight of the metal pulling down extra in the shower more than other times. I'm wondering if there's a solution out there. Also, if I might just need a more secure cage, later.

Oh! One more thing! Are briefs/boxer briefs really as helpful as I've read at keeping things in place?

Sounds like the ring is too big, how much space is there between the ring and your skin, can you get more than the tip of your finger in easily?

Some men turtle back into their bodies, it could be that your penis is doing this and then simply appearing again above the ring. If this is the case, then you need some sort of anti pull-out mechanism in your cage (like anti pull out spikes or similar).

If slipping out is due to the cage, it is usually a combination of ring size and/or ring gap needing adjustment.

If you are using a Chinese stainless steel device with the magic locker type barrel lock, the casting is often loose around the lock and allows the gap to increase while being worn. With a bit of adjustment, this can be fixed.

The problem is that a hot shower tends to loosen up all of the skin down south. Maybe try cold showers instead?

Seriously, it sounds like you have a problem with fitment. It is probably a mixture of too large a rear ring, too large a gap, and maybe too heavy a device. Also, if the cage / tube portion is very short, it makes security even more difficult without a PA to secure it in the cage.

Ring is just way too big... unless the cage is just ridiculously big and way to heavy.

Thank you all for the replies! It looks like next time I need to consider a more custom design! It is a metal one so, it's definitely heavy as well. Wondering if boxer briefs might help while moving around. As for a piercing, I've considered a fernum piercing for the future!

What size ring are you using?

    A 50mm but, I thought I measured that right.

Yeah there is a good chance you can go down to a smaller ring. When I first started the 50mm or 2 inches felt almost impossible to get on... but I use a 45mm or 1 3/4 inches now that is Oval Shape (wide).

I know I can use a 1 5/8 inches ring that is round, but the oval is just more comfortable. Don't hurt yourself though, wear it for a little... get used to it and you will be good in no time. The ring is a lot more important than the "tube". You can probably fit into a smaller tube then you think too...

Shoot me a private message if you want to talk more.

Boxer briefs will help a lot, but don't get cotton ones, they tend to stretch out. Go with a polyester/spandex (or similar blend) like you'd find for use in sports ("moisture wicking"). They'll stay nice and tight. I like Baeleaf (from Amazon) but others like Under Armor, etc work too.

I agree, ring is far to big for you, a smaller size would definitely help you. And I have always preferred briefs of thongs to boxers, I found that my cage would always want to go down one leg or the other pulling on my device, but it’s all down to each individual.

A piercing is the only way to guarantee no pull out.

I haven't studied this fully but it seems to me those spikes wouldn't be optimal for long term use, I don't know though, can anybody advise me whether spikes are a daily wear possiblity or if that's not healthy or viable? (I tend to turtle a bit, grower not show-er)
