A little of both. Yes, some people can role over, sleep on their side or come up with some other strategy for dealing with it. And, yes, if you stick with it, you will get used to it. Finally, in the experience of most of us longtermers on this site, they do lessen or even go away with time. I've been locked for most of the last 4 1/2 years, and I only occasionally am really awakened to the point of being annoyed anymore.

Yes, definetly, normally when I wake up with such feeling I might consider to touch myself. Now, this is restricted and there is no other way then go back to sleep.

To catch up sleep again, I normally stretch my scrotum or go to the toilet. However, an hour later it is back again. This typically happens in between 4 a.m. till 6 a.m. After about 2 weeks 24/7 caged, the nocturial erections become less. It then looks like everything is getting used to the new locked situation.

There's really not room for growing inside the cage, not lengthwise nor widthwise.

 

Use a more contoured cage like the Holy Trainer V3. I used to wear a CB and I had the same problem that you describe.

Too large base ring -> your badly behaving organ pulls your testicles when showing independence.
Too small base ring -> no circulation of blood, your organ and testicles die and drop off eventually.

Too large a cage -> your organ gets too wild and tries to rip off your testicles
Too small a cage -> no blood circulation, oedemas and problems with hygiene, depending on the cage

In any case, finding the perfect size cage and the ring (if such is used) is not necessarily a trivial task.

A chastity belt is also good for sleeping as nothing is pulling your testicles.

I followed the measurement instructions from Evotion Wearables. The basic idea is to have the internal dimensions the same as the flaccid size of your dick.

I did my best when measuring and got it almost right: the cage would be better if the top shaft part of the cage would be 3mm shorter. This way the egde of glans would always be located better to match the hole/slot of the cage. Now it's perfect when it's warm, but if my penis wants to turtle, the edge of the glans may get too "back".

To understand this, one needs to understand the EV#8 has a hole around the cage for the edge of the glans.

So, internal measurements of the cage should match the flaccid size of ones penis. No room for growth is needed or desired.

If you wear the cage permanently, the parts of your brain that subconsciously control the erections may eventually adapt to the pain and turn the erections down.

But as a beginner, you can't be expected to wear it permanently right from the start. For you, I guess, it's more of an on-and-off play.

The easiest way to get rid of nightly erection pain or wakeups is to wear a full belt instead of just a cage.

Sleeping is usually not a problem. Most night I can sleep right through to morning. Some nights I seem to get more heavier erections and while there is no room in the cage to grow.. it will start to grow at the base of the penis and pushes the cage out and starts to pull on the balls.
