It's not fair! Why is all the sexy stuff in the US? I have a parcel waiting on a customs payment because I had to get stuff shipped from the US, and I don't mind this too much, but what has really upset me today is this: I found a dress on a website in the US, I searched for a UK supplier of same dress and found it. Dress price in US 80$... in the UK 80.... HELLO?! Just how much money do you want to make off me?! I'd rather ship it in and pay the customs than be ripped off like that! Cheeky buggers!
To be fair, it isn't just clothing suppliers who rip off UK purchasers. If you look at any piece of electronics or software, the price in dollars will almost always be lower than the price in sterling for the same item (so a $100 item becomes at least a 100 item). It isn't for nothing that the UK is known as "Treasure Island".
A suggestion might be to narrow your search for products on google or otherwise by country. IE:"Sexy dresses UK".

I'm looking for very specific types of clothing, and the UK just sucks big time! Either it's terribly made or it's terribly expensive!
I agree, I get most of my underwear from the aussiebum site, they're based in australia, it costs 15 per pair inc shipping rather than the 30 they charge in selfridges!

Maybe the UK is more demanding than France, but when I order stuff from home (the US), I never, ever (knock on wood) have to pay Customs or duties... What about between France and GB? Andy

i know that items shipped outside the US get hit with some serious customs and duties by the recieving country. One way around it is to have it marked as a gift with a very low value.
