Please forgive me if this topic has been covered previously. My wife has shown interest in changing the cage her property lives in. I am the one who has to look for possible options and report them back to her. I see a lot of cages with the security screw and we both have reservations. I am currently in a rigid model 10 with the hole for a wire security seal. She does not fully trust me to not try and pick the lock, and probably justifiably so. My question is just how secure is the security screw in a lot of cages? I have a massive amout of tools and even some bite that are torx with the pin indent torx. her concern is i would be able to defeat the security screw and without a wire security seal do bad things to her lil buddy. With her current cage and security seal set up i cant defeat it with out her knowledge.
Anything is defeatable….but also have seen people ask Mature Metal to make a second hole so you can add a security tab next to the screw.
I have a mature metal with a security screw and I don't see how I could get out of it without completely destroying the cage. It also is much more comfortable to wear long term compare to a padlock. They also do not offer replacement keys or any extra keys.
I use a Mature Metal Jail Bird with the screw… once you get that thing tight there is no way to get it off with your hands. And I dunno wtf I am doing with tools, lol.
My Lori 5a uses a security screw, and over time the piercing pin eventually rocks back and forth enough to wiggle the screw loose and I can unscrew it by using the tip of an xacto knife in the head of the screw, like a small screw driver. I bike a lot, and so after 30 and 40 mile bike rides with thousands of pedal strokes pushing the cage against the padded shorts they do wiggle. To fix this I got a bottle of Loctite - which is able to act like a glue and hold the screw in place. Be careful bough - there are two levels of Loctite. One is meant for the screw to be able to be removed at some point with some strong effort. The other will type will fuse the screw to the threads and you will need to drill out the screw or otherwise cut of the whole cage and wreck part of it.
I’m new here, but I want to remind you that most of this is emotional, Use something to “prove” that you haven’t “cheated” but you don’t need to force that he didn’t “cheat”
I know any cage can be defeated. But with the tamper seal it takes away the temptation to break out and i REALLY dont like the consequences of getting caught. I think my wife has a fancy for the evotion cages and they use a screw.
Screws work if tightened correctly. The Mature Metal ones are _not_ security Torx but hand made to a strange styled 5 or 7 edged tool with a centre pin so you can't stick in any old bit of metal. Major benefits is not having a padlock clattering against the cage and the pain of it digging into your bodies. A
I've seen some people on here talk about putting a unique nail polish color on and in the screw hole. The idea being, in order to get a screw driver into the head of the screw, you have to pick out the nail polish lacquer. Once you do that, you have shown that you tampered with the screw. That along with some low level Loctite should do the trick to make the screw tamper proof.
First, the standard answer is that if you want any "real" security, you need to go PA. There really does not seem to be any decent alternative. Second, to defeat all possible cheats, for a handy guy loaded up with tools and experience? Wow, that's a tough one. I suppose some combination of a security lock and a luggage tag.
I am already pierced, so It is secured that way. As i mentioned i believe my wife is exploring other options besides the Rigid model 10 with tamper seal i am in currently. There seems to be a lot of choices with the screw, like evotion. She has already said that models with a pad lock are out. Without cutting the wire on the tamper seal its undefeatable. I guess she may just be best keeping it where it is.
Just my experience here. The mature metal security screw is very easy to defeat. A flat head micro screw driver blade will do the job. It also tends to work itself loose after a while. This isn't a criticism of Mature Metal at all. A dab of locktite would definitely help. Personally I like the small "magic locker" type locks.
Actually, you want Loctite PURPLE!! It is for small screws and easily allows unscrewing. Blue is too strong for this application. we have been using it and it really stops the screw from coming out long term, but if it needs to come out you don’t risk stripping the screw from force.
The male chastity now security screw works well. The old design was a standard torx bit. The new design is a very unique. No tools truck, or store has the design. You would have to order a new key if you lost the old one. When properly tightened I don't have any issues with coming loose. If I remember correctly. Make chastity now has hollow security screws so you can incorporate a wire lock as well.
