Has anyone any real information - or know how and where to find it - on the sales of chastity devices over, say, the last ten years.
I believe this site has around 40,000 members and it isn't the only one . . . just the best !
I've got several different cages, bought over the years and in my constant search for the perfect, comfortable, inescapable device. And I think that may be true of a number of other members.
If you go on-line to the Chinese sites, such as DHGate, they appear to have hundreds of sellers, featuring thousands of devices (often very similar it must be admitted) and, cumulatively, listing ten of thousands of sales now at very reasonable prices. They are businesses and I don't believe would be doing it if they weren't selling and making money.
I saw my first cage, a CB-2000, at the Erotica Show in London around 15 years ago . . . and everyone agreed it would never sell ! I am sure that as a lifestyle / concept chastity has really taken off but I'd to know if there is any evidence as to how high it's gone.

That is a very interesting question. What percentage of the male population is wearing a Chastity device on a dryly bases ? Just going by sales does give a completely accurate picture as you stated. Most of us have a few, I have 10of my own. Also not all cages that have been bought are been worn some may have been given as gag gifts to new Brides. Maybe only 10% of cages sold are been worn full time. Sales must in the millions by now. Maybe their are a million men locked up. We could start saying “We’re 1 in a Million “ well have to wait to see if anyone has any facts to say how many cages have been sold.

I now have 4...If that counts....I have only been locked for about 3 months...I see more cages in my future. My Wife and I have talked about being able to meet other couples into MC, just to chat and see how others are doing. This site helps, but to sit down and chat with others would be helpful...Not sure how we would meet others around where we live...

It’s not that easy to just bring it up in general conversation. And since you live in Canada standing on a street corner “Now” Displaying your cage wouldn’t work. Way to much shrinkage. Here is a good start.

I don't have firm figures, but I do have a guesstimate for you:

20% of developed world couples do kink. (Based on surveys)

50% of kinky couples do Femdom. (Educated guess.)

50% of Femdom couples do male chastity. (Guess based on ubiquity of devices in online sex stores.)

    0.2 x 0.5 x 0.5 = 5% of men have a chastity device.

5% of men who own chastity devices are "locked" (Guess. I think people like us are in the minority.)

Meaning 1 in 400 men in the developed world are locked to some extent.

I like You statistical data, the next step would be to add numbers to each part to get a total
On an interesting not, I was on a web site that listed the most popular sex toy sold in each USA state. Two of these States had male Chastity Cages as Number 1

A while back I tried emailing some of the major companies for this kind of information. The answers tended to be "trade secret" or some kind of brush off, which doesn't surprise me.

One major reseller did tell me that chastity decides were their next biggest selling items after dildoes and insertables. Naturally, they gave me no figures.

The devices that you see on AliExpress and DHGate are small re-sellers; most of the devices are being made by just a few manufacturers who stick with certain designs. The plastic designs have high startup costs for mold development, although the devices are pretty inexpensive on their own.

The stainless steel devices are susprisingly cheap for the handwork that goes into them; I haven't figured out how they manage. But considering all the devices in the $20 to $50 range, the Chinese manufacturers have counted on a pretty large demographic that will buy them.

Considering the backlog of the higher quality device makers, I've often wondered the same thing. I'm sure that the majority of sales are a combination of try once or twice and never again, and guys trying to find the perfect cage, having already been through at least one device. But it's still an amazing amount being sold.

well if you figure out an Amazon search that lists the devices you are interested in "knowing about" there are programs that uses an algorithm to estimate what the months sales look like for the items. it is by NO means an exact science, but it does give you a feel of what the sales look like.

As a note from someone the used to sell adult toys on Amazon (sexual wellness) ... this category can VERY difficult to get estimated sales figures on

Most of us have purchased more than one - I've bought 6. Of course we can only wear one at a time! Usually, I am only locked on weekends, or up to two weeks once in a while.

How's this for a guess: 1 in every 2,000 grown men are sometimes locked up?

The baseline has to be, How many active male submissives are there?

Modern surveys reveal a mind blowing number of couples doing at least some kink - it usually comes out around 30% - that it no longer looks like "an unusual sexual practice". (I've been listening to a podcast called Science of Sex). If you guess half these couples do some male submission, that still yields an awesome figure.

Even more awesome: roughly double those numbers fantasise about kink. So fast forward a couple of years, and at least some kink in the bedroom will be the norm.

I suspect we are on the brink of a positive version of the #metoo experience.

At that point, will it even be called kink, because now it's just normal ;)

On Google Trends there is not really an increase noticeable.: [link removed]
Also not a real number of searches. Looks like "Male chastity device" is more popular in the UK then it is in the USA.

Here it is Worldwide, but the curve is similar for UK and USA:
    Google Trends Male Chastity.JPG

Not so sure this is indicative. I would guess that several things are at work:

Kinksters were early adopters of Google and really hammered it. So part of the decline reflects the search engine's growth.

Back in 2004-10 it was worth googling for chastity devices since they were mostly sold from the maker's site, and new makers popped up from time to time. Nowadays, the market is more stable.

Of late, the main vendors are well known, so people google for that or go straight to the site. Here's Holy Trainer:
    Google Trends Holy Trainer.JPG

Finally, most chastity device sales are now from resellers and from Amazon. Here's Amazon's suggestions if you start typing in Chastity:
    Amazon Suggestions Chastity.JPG

So I don't think google indicates that our fetish has shrunk. If anything, I think it is growing.

It is definitely growing. 8years ago when I was looking for a cage their were very few on the market now their are a lot to choose from. Just thinking about business would you manufacture something if it doesn’t sell, the selection has grown and so have the men wearing them. Maybe some day we’ll be able to talk about “What cage are you wearing today “ just like talking about the weather.

For all the guys that do own a device if you divide the number evr sold by six you might be getting sopmewhere near the numbers sold.
I believe I once heard a few years ago that the Millers or (AL Enterprises) the makers of the cbXXXX series had sold their first million .... and there are lots of other makers out their but none are very free with the actual numbers they've sold.. understandably but still many of us would like to know.

Who buys them and where? I guess we will never be told.

    • Population of developed world, about 1 billion.
    • Male population 500 million
    • AL Enterprise devices sold 1 million
    • Men owning AL Enterprise device, 1 in 500.

How many of these are routinely locked? I think anybody with a device costing more than USD 100 has bought it as part of their lifestyle. So this seems very close to my 1 in 400 guesstimate.
