    Hi
I have the Rigid Chastity #5
I want to go swimming in the sea but are nervous about rust as the sea is salt.

    Should I be worried?

I assume that they use 316 stainless steel but I can not find confirmation on their website, 316 is often used in marine applications so you should be OK.

I would be concerned with the lock more than the cage. You should remove the lock after saltwater and flush it thoroughly with fresh water and perhaps a drop or two lubricating oil.

If you bolt a 1lb zinc anode onto that cage, you should be just fine in saltwater.

I would really be worried about the lock. Try a different cage; whenever I want to go for a dip I put a zip tie on mine instead of the lock.

It’s just my opinion and have never done so don’t blame if it doesn’t work...but you could try to use a wad of let say soft bee’s wax to protect the mechanism. Make sure it dosent get inside it. Well that’s my two cents. Hope it helps you out. Let me know how it went.

i would not worry about it in my lori cage. so long as you rinse off in fresh water after you get out it should be fine. the lock i would swap with a disposable plastic lock while swimming in salt water though.
a security screw im less worried about. that or it rusts shut and permanent chastity becomes real lulz

I think you’re worrying unnecessarily. Custom makers like them use stainless steel and quality brass lockers, if it’s the same quality as Steelworxx, which it seems to be, you’ll have no problems. I’ve swum in the ocean in my Steelworxx, you always rinse off later, no problems.

I have the same device, it’s no problem for the cage, the brass lock on the other hand might have some temporary issues. Nothing permanent, but the salt will stick in the moving parts. A rinse will make it all better

another way you could do it is to protect the lock by wrapping it in a piece of clingfilm, a small plastic bag (cut a corner off a large one) and/or wrap it with tape.

Alternatively, having a clean water bath or shower after the sea swim should wash out any salt. I've swum in the sea a few times without any precautions except rinsing it afterwards and have had no problems.
If they do jam, small padlocks are easily broken with a pair of open jaw spanners.
(plenty of Youtube clips to show you how)

Any advice on how to recondition one that has already discolored? I didn’t swim but a long lock up caused the one under my PA to discolor.

I think it’s all my precum leaking and getting between the glans tip and the shaft portion of an Evotion I was wearing in the Spring.

I haven’t tried to recondition it, but it’s a Burg Wachter (ME/2?) and not a knockoff.

How do I prevent any corrosion and how do I recondition?

I see lubricating oil - can you be more specific?

I see beeswax. I haven’t tried orthodontic wax. Should you not get that in the keyhole?

I swam in pools and the ocean in my 100% stainless steel Contender and GlansArmor without Any problem. I use a hot tub too.

It’s the brass locker for other devices we are concerned about.

Metal polish should bring brass up well, but as most metal polish has some grinding paste in you do not want it to get into the mechanism. If you can find a polishing cream that says it is not abrasive that may help. You could try one of the rough plastic scouring pads with water, might not polish it but would clean the surface tarnish. Brass will always tarnish and dull to some extent.
