Anyone have any opinions on the use of round or elliptical rings? I have a plastic cage that came with a 52mm, 48mm, 43mm and 40mm. The 48 mm seems to work best but I want to move up to a metal cage and thought thee elliptical rings seemed to make sense.
Well, I am not getting any response on my round or elliptical ring question so... How about this? I saw a cage that had a hinged ring. I really liked it design and the price point but I worry about pinching. Would this only happen when it is being "installed" or could it happen when it is being worn. Here is a link to the cage. Also, does anyone know anything about this company? https://oxy-shop.com/collections/steel-cock-cages/products/nc10-l-small-chastity-2-28-58mm
I saw anatomical rings, but never had problems with the round ones so I never cared about them. About this shop: Nothing wrong with trying to save money, but to me the prices in this shop are somewhat suspicious and I would never trust into the material - especially with those molded looking pieces - no matter what they write...
Round or elliptical, really depends on your own physique which suits you best, but I'd advise against hinged rings. It's not that difficult to get into or out of a solid ring that's too small for comfort or health to wear for any length of time, so there's no real advantage of a split ring and plenty of discomfort to be had wearing one. If you're really new to chastity and struggle to get a solid ring on, then you'll have a much better experience by learning how to work with a solid ring, rather than getting a hinged one.
I have a hinged one I refer to as the punishment device. They pinch, and usually in inopportune moments. I have an eliptical shape, and like it better than round.
I have both round and elliptical, both work okay. I think it maybe a personal preference or how they match the individual brand of cage. I've also had solid and hinged rings. Early versions of hinged were an issue but the later ones, especially on an elliptical shape weren't an issue for me. You had to be a bit more careful when putting it on, similar to how you have to make sure posts on a cage don't pinch skin when aligning them.
Both work. I get on better with the round one, but the advantage of the elliptical is that there are rings with a wide transverse diameter, which are more comfortable to wear.
