    Hey all,

I've been in 24/7 chastity for 4 days now and am getting a bit more desperate. I've always been interested in using an aluminum pop rivet to secure my device and now that I have a Jailbird I can make that a reality. Does anyone have experience riveting their devices? What kind of drillbit/removal tool should I get incase I have an emergency? I plan on only using aluminum and have heard these will come loose over time and can be removed easily by some simple hand tools.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

Putting a rivet is definitely daring. I’ve thought about that, or putting crazy glue in the keyhole, or throwing the key into the river...

Paramount first though, is making sure the cage is comfortable/wearable for long term. My current (metal) cage had little rough spots, where the front part fits into the ring. I’d thought I’d ground & sanded those off satisfactorily, but about one week into Locktober, there’s still a little spot that scratches and pinches, which makes my otherwise comfortable cage painful. My keys are safe in a lock box until November 1st, so I’m stuck for three more weeks :(

In my opinion, a secure lock box that one can’t open until a certain date, works the same, in practice, as a rivet. I use the Chastikey app, which works great.

So are you still locked up ? How many days of continuous lockup are you up to ?

If you do choose to lock your cage with a rivet, please post pictures, and tell us about it !

Get a time lock. I have heard about them ,haven't seen one. Using a rivet means you have use the tools a couple of times this month . Keeping clean is very important . I am 24 / 7 for 18 months now and my cage is removed every 7 to 10 days for cleaning .

agreed a rivet isnt really that difficult to remove if wanted badly enough, not really worth the risk of damaging your device or yourself for the little extra mind bit.

I'm still in chastity, although I had a brief rest on Sunday and relocked on Monday morning. My cage is custom and fits perfectly. I've gone up to 9 days of 24/7 wear without any problems other than tender skin on the bottom of the scrotum. The 2 limiting factors I've run into are my sex drive (of course) and skin soreness. I think riveting would be a thrilling experience and maybe would let me push into the 2 week of 24/7 wear range. I'll be sure to post some pics and maybe a video of the riveting if I choose to do so.

Honestly, if you had a perfect fitting cage, you wouldn't have any soreness at all! I vote don't rivet until you can go 2 full weeks (or longer) without having to unlock for any reason.

(For the under-scrotum soreness, see if you can increase the "gap" between the ring and the shaft on your cage. That seems to be a little-known but possibly common cause)

I think it's mostly because I have a large set of low hangers and the ring seems to migrate at night and when I really get aroused. I've been told a few times a double base ring would be the best option but I don't want to spare 130 USD right now for a new ring. I have a 3/8" gap, but personally I would go to 1/4" for long term.

What do you use a lubrication/protection overnight?

A use a moisturizing body cream from Bath and Body works. It seems to do the job much better than a lotion or gel and smells good too.

I find silicone lube to work the best and last the longest

Neosporin works wonders on that sore (burning) skin and acts as a lube for a bit. Eventually everything is fine and simple lotion should do.

I find Aquaphor to work really well, for similar reasons. Its petroleum jelly based so it's a long lasting lube. And if you do get a hotspot, the whole point of Aquaphor is to heal those sorts of things!

I’ve riveted before. It’s pretty hot.

I wound up drilling out the core of the rivets to get them off.

    I say go for it!
