Restricted Forums etc.

I'm really not sure why so many men here are scared of having a ladies section. Surely it's no worse than having a Sissies section or one for Cuckolds which already exist. There's even a garden thingy for chaste females. However the thought of having a female KH section is somehow abhorrent and threatening and has all the crusty dinosaurs on this site blundering about blinded by rage and stamping down on as hard as possible. Without even any sort of reasonable discussion.

It just seems to me like another thing behind closed doors. Like you editing and deleting posts and threads.
Just another power rush.

 

Is there something that is misunderstood? I don't there is anything being proposed that would be hidden. From what I gather, the restriction would be in who would be allowed to post. This whole deal is built around honor and commitment. Why is a "restricted" section such a hot-spot?

 

Maybe not misunderstood. Misinformation is one of the key forms of developing a ground swell of dissent, it's a well known manipulative device.

Someone says something. Someone doesn't like it and misrepresents it. The misrepresentation develops a life of it's own until the created misinformation becomes a reality of it's own.

 

There is no other area on the Mansion that has restrictions.

 

Not a criticism, just an observation. Maybe, just maybe Carrie a little snip of gray matter here or there might be just the thing for you. I mean that in a supportive way...............no really. Could work out for you (LOL). Had one myself and it hasn't impacted hasn't impacted hasn't impacted hasn't impacted hasn't impacted me negatively at all!

 

You're exactly right Verity. I think some people have misunderstood and over reacted. I really don't think there needs to be anything hidden or secret about it.

 

I agree, it should be discussed sensibly from here on and and without further drama and argument.

Restricted posting to any particular forum is not necessarily a bad thing if it makes people feel more open about expressing themselves without fear of being harrassed, and I think that Ms Amanda's suggestion of simply respecting such a restriction rather than having an actual filter to restrict posting is an excellent suggestion. Those who ignore the honour system would be identifying themselves as not respecting others. However. (there's always a caveat) there is always the question of whether its appropriate to apply a penalty to those not respecting the restriction, I leave that to those far more worthy than I.

Though I really don't think a penalty would be necessary.

 

I rather think that they're either stated or implicit in her post of 12.10 yesterday.

 

My point is that if there's no penalty there really is nothing other than the approbation of the other members to dissuade errant members from ignoring the posting restrictions.

 

So now the whole thing has gone round and round chasing it's own tail.


Thus just post stuff as normal every body can read it and comment as we feel like ?

Tell me what I have to put on my new profile so I can do just that ??

No Wendy, it could be as simple as asking yourself one question....

"Am I a Keyholder"

If "Yes" - then post and respond in the section.

If "No" - then don't.

It could be that simple. No going round. No tail chasing. I mean, unless you really want to of course....

 

Is it not slightly alluring to to see something you can't touch? Look down.... Just like what you are looking at, the area would be locked. Locked. Not invisible. Whatever. Some of this radical, objectionable mentality is questionable.

 

In as muche as I disagree with the 4 bullit points that Dianne makes.

I quite agree with her request that the thead should be locked and buried.

Having spent several hours with psycs who all agree I am not nutzz to call me delusional is way beyond what is tolerable with in the grounds of this thread .

I hope other members will support this proposal especially as it's from the OP which on the grounds of politeness is quite OK by me.

This is a public free forum nothing more and nothing less .

I will do all I can to make sure that anyone is comfortable posting and commenting and one of the ways that is possible is that everything can be seen ,read and judged by the cumunity at large.

All over the world people live in fear because their government however some are elected ,control what they read.
