I made a cage for myself during lockdown that was to be more of a 'pain cage'

The spikes are now a bit longer

Basically a cheap flat cage with screw on spikes I ordered screwed in to each hole - was super simple and I think for others may be effective as a punishment or a deterrent for out of step behavior.

Obviously not a super long term wear cage, otherwise my other pain while caging was largely estim pads under a flat cage.

No. At least in my case, the teeth gripped quite firmly when I was soft. That being said, I’ve just been looking at the MCN website, and it looks like the one we had was the TPE original, and not the MCE version. Somehow I hadn’t realized they were slightly different. The TPE model are noticeably different. I found a picture of the TPE version:

    https://web.archive.org/web/20000605084400/http://www.tpe.com/ktb/sizes.html

You can see that the MCN version has evenly distributed spikes across the whole interior, whereas the TPE version had several rings of more dense spikes with gaps between the rings. Given who designed it, I’m pretty sure that was done intentionally to maximize pain.

I wonder if anyone has tried both and can comment!

Either way, if I was buying a new one now, I’d opt for the base ring which mine didn’t have. There was a definite sense of wanting the KTB to be supported so it wasn’t so easy for it to get pulled.
