The final decision in my MM Jailbird purchase is the ring shape. We're going from a CB3000 to the Jailbird so my inclination is to order round, however, I feel I would be remiss in making a fully educated decision without getting feedback on round vs oval on the rings and any related experience there that might sway my decision on what to put the boy in. What have you all seen as the most significant difference? Has there been varying experiences with adjustment time, chafing, slippage, etc? Any and all feedback is welcome as I intend to get this ordered for the boy so that by Christmas... he knows the order is in the works.... Thanks in advance for your feedback.
Hi, The difference between a round ring and an oval ring is that the oval gives a more uniform gap raising the bottom of the ring closer to the bottom of the cage. You would order the oval ring in the same size you would a round ring as it will start out round then is squished a bit to become a slight oval shape. If you look at a round ring attached to a device, you can see how much lower the ring hangs from the cage itself. Please let me know if you have any other questions. maturemetal@grandecom.net Thanks Mistress MatureMetal ( M MM)
Hello! I just sent an email to you asking the same question. Do you have pictures to show us the difference? The oval makes sense to me. My plan was to order a 1 1/4 cage and a 1 5/8 base ring because that is what I used with CB6000.
http://www.maturemetal.com/extra-base-rings/ The oval ring is just slightly oval. Order the same size you would as if you were ordering a round ring HAPPY 2013 M MM
I talked to you guys about this via email. I really wish you had some pictures of what it looked like.
I have an oval ring, and as Mistress MM said, it's only slightly oval. If you saw a photo of it, you'd probably be hard pressed to say it was not just 'round'. It's only very slightly squashed from a true circle.
