Open discussion on new site layout, logo etc.

I like the new arrangements and design. I think the colours are bright and welcoming, and makes everything look easy and clear to read.
I’m also pleased with the name changes to the various groups and forums, being a relatively new member I never understood the old names and so it was very difficult to know where to post and what to say. Now everything is very self explanatory which in my opinion is much better

 

I can't say I'm overly impressed but its early days and change is good. I'm sure it will get better. It's all a little much at the mo.

 

I'm finding the text much harder to read, even with reading glasses.

 

Everything is much easier to find and the whole thing is easier to navigate

 

I would say I have a generally positive response, but would offer the following constructive criticism -

1. There are too many forums now and I think some could be merged or done away with. For example Vanilla Chastity is an oxymoron. If you put your dick in a cage you are not vanilla.
2. I did like the concept of the mansion having different rooms to go into and would like to see that come back.
3. I think the Bar should move further up the forum list. This place has some of the best discussions.

 

One minor thing I question: that "your desire to serve" subtitle.
That's totally distinct from chastity in my opinion and absolutely not my flavor of the kink.

 

Sorry, this is a step backward from the old red theme. That was clean, well designed. This one is cartoonish, not designed by an expert in graphical user interfaces.

I agree that the logo is missing something ... as I stated in a different thread ... I do not care for the word male in the new logo ... I like, the C (but a different font may give a better feel) / the lock / the M / the Chastity Mansion ... the words "your desire to serve" are OK, but maybe the way to pull it all together would be to remove the word male and place the symbol for male under the words "your desire to serve", this would still give the tone of males in chastity with female KH but be much more subtle about it. ... Or you could incorporate the lock and the male symbol together, placing a lock on the male symbol, again very subtle.

 

I think it looks great, I really do, it's much more user friendly now in my opinion. My only question mark with the site (and this is nothing new, I've wondered about this ever since I first started coming here) is that I think members need to sign in before they can view any of the content at all. At the moment anybody can read what is here and it's not all appropriate for all people. To engage with Fet Life, for example, you have to sign in otherwise no deal. I've always felt it should be the same here.

As far as the new design goes though, well done all concerned!

 

It is opened up for all to see so that the search engines can spider through it ... which in turn allows it to place higher on searches ... if you look to the right in the "users online now" box you will see that guests and robots (search engines) are almost always a higher number then actual "members" ... while I understand this idea, I can't say I agree with it completely.

I think members create community and the point of forums is online community ... guests do NOT create community because they can not post / discuss ... there needs to be an area that is open to the world to see, but there also needs to areas that are members only. I believe it does two things, it makes the members area much more community feeling (because they were interested enough to become a member), and it gives a layer of security from the world (must in this lifestyle are not out to the world and want discretion).

 

Maybe it’s the guy in me but I’m all about function over form.

Colors are fine, logo too, mantra....seems to pigeonhole the entire chastity kink into bdsm etc. hey I’m into that so it’s fine with me, it might alienate others.

My alerts come up as flags and disappear. I prefer to have my alert stay lit until I check them. It’s a bit busy, and the “what’s new” is what I usually used to see what was going on. I’ve noticed some posts that I knew had new content (was alerted) didn’t show in the what’s new.

All in all I find it too busy, sterile, and a lot of things seem to slip through the cracks. That being said, it may mean I need to change how I navigate the site. Get off my butt and look around, the what’s new and my alerts used to be so easy.

I also find it difficult to see many of the small and gray typefaces, even with eyeglasses.

 

I cant find a fault in it.

if you use chrome you can Zoom in a bit if reading is hard. or hold ctrl and use a mouse wheel to zoom in too

 

I thought no the changes are fab. Thank you admin. However I do wish you could have resisted photoshopping the sets banner picture. (With the red shoes) the shadow thing you did is very crude and distasteful.

Also the site is so slow it’s only borderline usable. Perhaps over laden with the weight of doc and panty pics in the gallery?

 

The site is looking fantastic and the banner, to me, makes a powerful statement of Female Superiority. Follows behind and on my knees.

The signature tickers font is not working very well with the present .... theme however.

Site speed will improve. Big steps and now the endless annoying little steps take allot of time and efforts.

 

As a relatively new member, I’m happy with the changes to the forums - they make more logical sense to me, and it’s clearer where things should be posted and where I should go to read.

I don’t know how it was before, but it works on mobile nicely too!

The theme is fine by me - easy to read and clear. I believe you can switch themes if you don’t like it.

 

Oh wow, I didn’t notice the shadow thing until Miss Amanda pointed it out. So either it’s pretty subtle or I’m pretty slow. Determining the correct answer is left as an exercise for the reader.

While on the subject, though, I’d like to ask if there’s a way that the big top banner could be optionally turned off or reduced. I have no problem with seeing Mistress Lucy’s very lovely and quite recognizable legs and heels, but when I want to check in from a non-private location it’s kind of unfortunate that every page comes up on my phone with a very large CHASTITY MANSION banner that includes a suggestive picture. It’s just a little unsubtle in situations where someone else might casually glance at what I’m doing.

That said, I really liked the prominent What’s New button that appeared on the banner for a couple of days. That’s always my first destination when I check the site, so it was nice to have an easy button for my fat fingers to hit.

 

That is pretty funny ...the banner ... I use a very wide monitor and the banner grows in size as the screen gets wider (it should be set to a max width) so I never even saw any of the things being talked about.

I would suggest though that while creating the responsive versions of the theme that the narrower versions do in fact minimize or drop the banner since they go directly with a person using a mobile device.
