    I wouldnt go there...hinged rings are usually quite uncomfortable as stuff gets caught in the hinge (hairs, skin) and can be ouchy for everyday wear...

    The videos have been disabled, so I can't comment on what device it is.

    In re. to hinged rings, despite some people saying they are uncomfortable and pinch, others say that it's not a problem, and if it is, you can cover the hinge with rubber tubing. Many of the hinged devices come with flexible tubing that covers the hinge so it doesn't pinch and grab skin/hair.

    The advantage is, as you have already pointed out, it can be much easier to put on and take off. He can also fit into a smaller hinged ring than a solid one.

    Because my balls are so high and tight, I can't get a solid ring on securely, so only use hinged rings or the multi-part ones (like the CBX range). The hinge will very occasionally pinch, but it is rare and easily fixed (though I do have one cage which pinches more often than the other hinged ring ones. The rubber or plastic tubes however, are awful - they will rub the skin of the perineum raw in a few days. I would advise against using them.

    If you're trying a hinged ring and are afraid of pinching or having those short hairs yanked out, try a corn sleeve. It's a little elastic tube designed to protect sensitive toes, but can be easily slipped over the ring and slid down to pad the hinge. Cheap and oh so much more comfortable.

    Good point on the rubbing, but I think that could be alleviated with the right kind of lubricant, such as lubes used to prevent chafing in sports (one I’m familiar with is called Body Glide), silicone-based lubes or even coconut oil. Another potential solution is a corn sleeve as suggested by MeatLocker above.
