That looks an awful lot like a miniature electronic security switch key. Supposed "tamper resistant". They're moderately common in alarm systems and such as they're more difficult to duplicate and pick. This might be a mechanical version. Pretty crafty.

In the grand scheme of things, it's a different type of key, and more rare. But I'm not necessarily sure that translates to a more secure cage. If you can pull out of a cage with one type of lock, I would think you'd be able to with this type of lock as well.

It's probably harder to pick this type of lock, but if you really want out, it's probably no more difficult to drill out than a standard lock.

Of course, that's all subjective and based on some assumptions. It's definitely cool. I just don't know if "cool" translates to the cage being any more secure.

It looks like what's called a "tubular lock" and common on vending machines and coin operated laundry equipment. Depending on the design, they are not difficult to pick or impression.

Similar shape to the HTV4 metal, so look comfy. Problem with a solid cage like that is the possible internal finish and the lack of ventilation.

It's a Barrel Lock same type used for Alarm Systems.

Agree, and if I'm reading the key in the photo correctly, the lock only has one pin as opposed to the normal 7 so this one might be a little easier to pick. (But why would you want to?)

Nobody would willingly want to pick one but an emergency might arise...

It does look like one pin. Now for a tensioning tool...

I’ve ordered one, i’m to curious about the cage.
The plastic cage I’m wearing now is nice, but I do like the shiny metal ones.
    Will let you know.
