I’ve been in a metal red chilli for two years but we both got tired of it and wanted a simpler device in plastic. I was really looking forward to this device. I was fed up of clonking on toilet seats. I know that’s all part of the fun when new to chastity but I was getting irritated by it.

The new device looked good. We got a pink cage with a black base, it was the short cage with headlock. I was instantly concerned about the rough finish but eagerly we got it in place. It instantly felt comfortable but I’m a bit long in the tooth to judge at that stage.

I found the first night ok although a nighttime erection did wake me up. The next day I found myself having to adjust my balls a bit many times during the day to rubbing. The 48mm ring seemed tighter than my 48 MM metal ring on my red chilli.

Then came last night. I was eventually in so much pain I had to ask to be removed. The erection I had in the device was unbearable. On removal we could see the headlock had rubbed terribly and the under side of my balls were chaffed. I was so sore that I’ve spent today uncaged. My first uncaged day since September. Although as I type this in bed we have put me in our oversized play and teasing cage as it’s at night I can’t be trusted.

I know you can mix and match relatively cheaply with CK devices and we’d love this device to work but I’m afraid it’s back to the drawing board for both cage and ring.

Well by next week I could let you know how I do my order should arrive by end of this week.

I have done a lot of conferring with users. Cage and ring size and shape is different for all.

But I have had 6 cages and only 2 work for me.

    Review you measurements?

See if others could offer advice.

Did you sand the surface smooth? The texture compared to a steel cage will be a gigantic difference.

Sand it smooth! Shouldn’t it arrive ready for use really?

Unfortunately, 3D printing technology isn't going to produce a highly smooth finish at the price point you'd want to pay (yet... maybe someday?). There's a note in the FAQ about the surface and how to finish it.

A: I do recommend giving it a sand if you're sensitive to the roughness or just want it smoother. 10-15 minutes with 600-800 grit wet sandpaper on the ring can make a world of difference.

    Hi. Responding to your comment:
at the price point we pay, straight from the commercial 3D printing service with only a small fee going back to the designer, it’s a finish as you like it affair. Some on CM have reported liking the natural egg shell finish as it comes. I do not. I sand mine. A lot. I start at 240 grit and work up to 1500. It takes a few hours. When I’m done, it’s like stainless steel smooth. And that’s the way I like it. I’ve been wearing my cherry keeper cages for over 2 years now. They are reasonably thrifty enough that you can hone in on the exact measurements, by trying a few. So, now that you’ve tried the first one, figure out what you don’t like about it, and you can order another with measurements to fix that problem. It took me several tries, but ultimately I found exactly the fit I was looking for and have been in that version for a year full-time wear.

if you want to compare costs of a full service 3D printed cage, look at evotion wearables. They are 3D printed and finished by evotion and they cost several times the cost of the cherry keeper.

good luck finding your best fit. Try sanding. Then try a different size cage or ring to fix any remaining sizing issues.

One other piece of advice, although the concept of the head lock is great. And many people here love it. I wanted to love it. And I tried it. And I learned that I need my skin to be able to move around just a little bit more than the head lock cage allows and I gave up on the head lock. It was a good move. I found comfort after that. Everyone is different.

I eagerly await my order to try CK. I have a couple of rings and cages coming.

I may have to reorder to tune in once I get started. May try sanding if needed.

I anticipate finding the right fit with a touch of trial and effort. Already have 6 cages and only 2 are really usable.

Think CK is affordable way to tune in a cage. Friends using them give me confidence.

I've not needed to sand mine, but we are all different. The good thing about the CK is that if you need a different cage or ring for a better fit, it is fairly to cheap to get a new one.

It would add a LOT of costs for Josie Lynn to have them ship to her, do post print finishing then ship again. I think it’s a great VALUE for what she charges. The nylon eggshell finish will grip the skin more than metal so the skin isn’t going to slide over as easy.

The only thing I find is that the Cherrykeeper does need to be removed for a good clean every couple of weeks. Whereas my stainless steel cage has literally been locked on me for months at a time. The cleaning is not an issue at all really as I have a duplicate Cherrykeeper so it's just a matter of swapping it over and returning the keys to Mrs Chaste to lock back inside the keysafe!

Hope to return home Friday to swap out and be locked into my CK once I model all 3 cages to Wife. She picks out first one for wear testing.

I'll note that the headlock on the CK Short doesn't leave much room for the glans. (I think my glans is about 5mm longer than the headlock to internal cage tip distance). Thus for many users, a non-headlock short cage may be more comfortable than one with a headlock.

Superb reply. Thank you. I’ll definitely sand it down. We love how it looks. I’m going to order the same cage but without headlock as that did a lot of damage.

I read earlier that the colour is only on the surface. Is this so and will sanding take the colour away?

If you sand extensively, the color will come off. It is possible to re-dye at home. I’ve not done it , but I’ve seen instructions on CM I think. I’ve always ordered the white to avoid that problem.

I’ve been meaning to write a big DIY on sanding 3D printed cages. The time has escaped me. But since it was brought up in this thread, attached are before and after pics of sanding in the way I described in my post above. Pics taken through a 10x loupe to show smoothness. The fist pic is the cherry keeper as received. The second is after gradually sanding from 240 grit to 1500 grit.

Major alteration to finish. Wife received our order today. I know I won't get to sand before modeling all 3 for her pick.

Think this weekend may include some sanding time along with anything she comes up with.

I sanded mine very smooth and it’s much more comfortable.

If making it smooth, you definitely lose the colour.

I re-dyed mine as you see it in my avatar. Quite cheap and easy to do.
