Metal vs 3D printed

    I know that either will be an improvement but I’m on my 3rd cage now and don’t want to keep buying cages I’m not happy with. As it stands I had cheap Chinese knock off, then birdlocked neo and now cb6000s. I like feeling restriction so I want a cage that feels tight and the second I start getting aroused immediately reminds me it is there. The cb6000s is not doing that until I’m fully erect and is also uncomfortable on the underside of my testicles. I don’t have a problem spending the money for a full metal one if that will solve my problems. I just want to know that it will.

    Any advise on if I should skip 3D (cherry keeper or cobra)? printed and go for a mature metal or red chili?

    I very strongly recommend the 3D printing route. (Look at the Cherry Keeper line) The advantages far outweigh the advantages of steel in my opinion. Mostly, it's far less costly to experiment.

    Unless you KNOW your exact dimensions and can custom build a metal chastity device, I think you'll find your ultimate solution much better with the "modular" approach 3D printing gives.

    If you're not confident about the exact size you need and you have access to a 3D printer then a 3D device would make sense.
    If you are sure of the size you need, then for comfort and hygiene, you can't beat a stainless steel device. I have a Red Chili cage myself and am very pleased with it.

    I’ve never had a custom cage some maybe getting the size right with kink3d’s and will help choose the right size in a metal.

    So prototype with a 3D to dial in on size and then buy a good metal?

    That was precisely my thinking. I initially thought I'd try the Cherry Keeper and convert what I found to custom metal. HOWEVER, I like the advantages of the 3D printed Cherry Keeper so much that I no longer see a reason to buy a metal device at all.

    The typical advantages of steel no longer apply in my mind: strength, comfort, security. The ONLY advantage I see anymore in steel is the aesthetics. They LOOK good. But for now, I have put any ideas of a steel device on the back burner. I see no reason to buy one anymore.

    I think the one characteristic that matters so much and people ignore it is weight. Even my CB6KS tried to "fall" due to gravity. The even lighter weight Cherry Keeper (yet far stronger) stays put......not belts, nothing....it just stays close to my body.

    Have you looked at all at kink3d’s cobra. It doesn’t have as many modularity as the cherry keeper but it is still quite customizable. I’m torn between the 2

    I have not looked at that device....

    The question is: how much TOTAL cost to customize? With the Cherry Keeper, if I messed up on ring size, I just spend $25 on another one.....not a big deal. That's what I love about it. Suppose, for example, I lose some weight and need a smaller ring. Easy, I just buy another ring.

    Is the Cobra "upgradable" that way?

    I looked at kink3d website. Here is how I'd compare the two companies: kink3d you STILL have to roll the dice and spend almost $200 to get a cage and a ring........and you might guess wrong. With Cherry Keeper/Shapeways you can get a ring and cage for $50......

    So, if experimenting, Cherry Keeper would be a lot cheaper.

    There will always be a market for custom steel cages, but let's just face it, 3D printing is the future and it is here. For long-term chastity, plastic is it. Metal looks great, feels great, but it's heavy and loud.

    Plastic is the only way to go for long-term wear.

    Kink3D and cherry keeper are redditors. I think they both try to help people with sizing and I think you can buy parts for the cobra. I’m still looking into both of their products though.

    I prototyped in 3D printed plastic and got the sizing perfect and then did 3d printed titanium. Custom fit secure and hygienic.

    @Minas bitch I think you have the right idea. 3D printing is the way of the future as far as chastity goes. One must dial in the dimensions and designs in a prototype (and pilot wearing) before committing to a production piece. This is competent engineering.

    How's the result for you? Can you elaborate? Not on the process, but the result.

    Thanks! Yes they are all printed and started with plastic so they are comfortable and secure. Here are some pics of that process as well as what the raw titanium finish looks like after printing.

    Well I started the prototypes in 2013 I think? So I wasn’t that far off. I wasn’t the first plastic printed chastity but I know I was the first titanium printed metal one when I did that in 2015. There are all sorts of kinky nerds out there working with newer technologies. Cant wait for all the new fun stuff that is coming!

    I remember seeing these on your Fetlife page. Did you ever sell any? I don't remember seeing them pop up on the website. I was interested in one because the Lori device I got was the wrong size (as many others have been) and didn't have the best customer service.
