Got my second CK today and this time went with the "black pa12" material versus the standard shapeways white nylon. so much better ! it's only a couple dollars more, and the texture is a little smoother, it's supposed to be slightly less flexible (only slightly), and it's inherently black instead of dyed. speaking of flexible material tho, I find the CK easy to escape by flexing it. i'll try a slightly smaller ring I guess, hopefully there's one with a similar 12° down incline.
@JosieLynn Jewell have you considered offering the PA12 with glass beads ? only a tiny bit more expensive than regular PA12, but they say a bit more rigid.
sorry i am not from U’ or USA and my english is not good enough….. I can’t understand at all Will you explain?
shapeways has a variety of materials which items can be 3D-printed in. the standard material is solid nylon, which shapeways calls "strong and versatile", I think. there's another type of nylon which is called "PA-12", which I prefer a bit to the standard. and then there's yet another variety of PA-12 which has lots of tiny microscopic glass beads in it. this material is supposed to be somewhat less flexible than PA-12. however, the owner of each shop needs to select what materials their items are available in, so I'm wondering in josielynn has considered adding PA-12-GB to the set of options.
