    Hey all,

So I'm fairly new to chastity, but last week had my first really successful session in my new Holy Trainer v3. Previously, I'd only tried a few hours, and I managed 11 days this go! (I was shooting for 7, but did a few dares on getdare that added to my time!)

Overall, it went really well! Upon removal, I had very slight irritation around my balls (mostly where hair grows and I couldn't shave easily) and a little bit on the underside of my cock, but nothing too bad and I'd classify it as fairly normal all things considered. The biggest thing I noticed was my cockhead was a little bit red/irritated/itchy. Unfortunately I've been having some general skin irritation issues lately (I'm seeing a dermatologist next month about it), so I can't definitely say how much was due to the cage and how much is related to the other issue I'm having, though I can say it's not as apparent a few days later since removing the cage.

ANYWAY, I wanted to ask about lubrication. Initially, I used a little silicone lube to get into the cage, and that seemed fine the first few days. 4 days in or so, I noticed I was sticking a little bit inside and getting a tad irritated from the cage and not enough lubrication, so reading up, I saw a post saying Petroleum Jelly was considered a good solution for this. The rest of the time, I daily (usually after showering and cleaning thoroughly) applied some generous Petroleum Jelly inside the cage and all around my cock. This solved any sticking issues and felt quite comfortable, though as I mentioned, by the end of the 11 days, I felt like my cockhead was still redder/more irritated than it should be. I don't think this was the cage...but I'm not sure if it could be the Petroleum Jelly, or if I just happened to be irritated from the other skin issues.

Is Petroleum Jelly the best thing I can use for this purpose? Is there something else you'd recommend?

    Thanks!

Baby oil gel is pretty commonly used

Otherwise it’s trial and error to see what works best for you

Thank you! Hmm...I do have some baby oil to try. Does it last all day?

Is there any reason petroleum jelly should cause irritation?

    Baby oil doesn’t last long
That’s why many use the gel it lasts longer

I don’t know I’d any reason why petroleum jelly would
People have used it on babies for decades or more

Personally I use baby oil in gel form.

It is less liquid and last longer... I usually lube up after morning shower and begore bed.

As for chafing on balls... I found that anti chafing cream like lanacane do miracles.

not sure ho anyone can go without lube on the base ring.
i tried a few times and even just sitting still on the sofa or a chair, it was excruciating. when i apply some lotion to the base ring i can go all day without noticing it at all.
may have to try baby oil

Thanks for the great replies. I may try a slightly smaller base ring on the next go as I think I might have had a little too much slippage this last time for one (it would tend to shift to the side...didn't seem too much of a problem, but I'm not sure if that could mean the base ring is a bit too big). I'll also see about lubrication options. I may see about the petroleum jelly one more time, and if that doesn't work, try the baby oil gel. Appreciate all the feedback! (I will say a few days after the chastity ended and I'm completely back to normal in prettymuch all ways, so I think my first go at any lengthy chastity was very successful overall).

For skin health in chastity a nice option is a skin solve balm. I use an organic one which is very nice and is formulated to reduce skin irritations. I find a small amount just reduces friction nicely, and I use it when I'm running.

Doesn't petroleum jelly promote hair growth?

I wash that area daily with aqueous cream and use Femfresh with a cotton bud to clean the inside of my HTV2.
I then use baby oil gel and it lasts all day then after a shower I re lube for bed

Only experience I have is with coconut and argan oil. Coconut is better in my opinion, but you have to reapply it 2-3 times a day (and before bed, ofc).
Maybe I should try baby oil gel, sounds interesting.

I prefer a good moisturiser my self, but your skin type will determine what’s best for you, I used to use baby oil, but found thins were to slippery.

With a plastic cage, any oil or petroleum product will interact with it, and eat at the plastic, and the resulting goo (dissolved plastic with oil/vaseline) is very likely to irritate skin.

Use oil or vaseline with a metal cage. With a plastic cage, use something that’s not oil-based.

I was using baby oil (not gel) morning & night on my previous locks and when I hit 17 days I was very irritated & had sores on my cock. After about 10 days out I was good to go. Upon relocking 24 days ago I have used no lubrications of any kind. I do occasionally get a pull/tug or binding of skin but it hasn’t been enough for me to lube up. The 27 is my 30 days, and I’m hoping to push for the 31st of August. Record days are climbing.
