I currently am using a Cherry keeper CKC-ISJ9S8-20. Mostly I am very happy with this cage and can wear it for weeks. The problem is, that once in a while, out of the blue, it gives me a pinch bad enough to bleed, on the underside of my penis, anywhere from midway down to the base next to my sack. I cannot figure out what is causing that

I am wanting to get another Cherry keeper that would not bite me.
The current cage is very snug in the diameter head and shaft. I can only get it on by using stocking method. I have to be watchful of shaft skin pushing out of the gaps. Also, while I am mostly at the end of the cage in length, a little shorter may be ok.

Question I have is, would larger diameter, “looks like I would have to go to 40mm”, be the answer?

    Recommendations?
    Thank.

I think I know what is happening. But without a photo I can't tell for sure. But ask yourself this: Where is the bite? Look at THAT part of the cage. Hold the cage AND ring together. The bit is skin poking out of the cage. So where is skin poking out of the cage? You can then see what is causing the bite.

The sock method pulls too much skin out of the device. I had to quit using the sock method.

    Consider fine tuning cage sizes.

I like to recommend to customers to have a bit more diameter than to have it too tight. If you're using a stocking method to get into a 37mm cage, than yes, perhaps a 40mm diameter would be a good fit. Maybe something like the CKC-PWSDN0-19....

Play with the Cage Finder and just search up anything with a diameter > 38mm. I don't think a single millimeter is enough of a change based or your description, but that will show you what is available.

Unfortunately not - the design gets printed exactly as shown. You would have to sand or dremel it off (which removed color from a very visible area)
