I've had 2 of those... The theory/concept is great, but 2 out of 2 failed, the first trapping me locked and had to break it, the second the battery quit taking a charge and just died...

I have tried the combo locks with a combination able to be reset, both locked with the wrong code. Was only testing the lock.

Oh, I have one of these locking a box with my cage keys inside which isn't due to open for another 30 hours. It will be hot if it doesn't unlock as it should. I'm kind of hoping it won't!

timebox.jpg I made this box using a timer padlock and a Very small storage box.
Mainly used it for Self Bondage fun, but can be used for delayed key keeping too

I'd add a solid piece of steel such as a blank 4" square electrical box cover and a nut between the lid and the hole for the lock's cable so there's no chance of bending up a corner of the plastic lid. You never know how strong you are until your failing willpower wants to Get! That! Key!

I use a realtor lockbox and a photo locking app. Blindly set the combination, take a photo with the app and set duration. Works perfectly. 224ECE70-1D89-4489-89BC-68A73C303F42.png D9EEC560-3656-4C14-ABF8-62DDE2A8CC5D.jpeg

Thanks for posts. It has been suggested that I use the timer lock for my keys. But it sounds like there can be an failure issue, which is worrisome. The combo lock approach seems nice, but not sure about using the app. I will take a look though and see if it might work for me.

I've just bought one of these, half the price and much smaller than a k-safe. Obviously made so certain functions of the phone can be operated while it's locked but I put my keys in a 4AA battery box which fits perfectly and can't be opened while the time box is locked. The timer seems to owe more to the cheap timer padlocks than to, say, the k-safe, and sadly there's no way to stop the countdown because ideally I'd want to set it for, say, six or twelve hours and then pull the batteries as you can on a k-safe so I can 'start' my release any time I want but knowing I won't get instant gratification. Behaviour if the rechargeable battery runs down is unknown, and there are a couple of pads on the back which may conceal screws allowing access to the innards so it could be interesting to find out whether the countdown is saved, in which case perhaps removing the battery (or replacing it with a modest capacitor) would allow behaviour like the k-safe.

Still, the next 29 hours could be fun.

I love the idea removing the batteries from the kitchen safe. The safe could be set for 10 days Permission to replace the batteries could be days or weeks.

We use to have a Bluetooth lock when I was in the BON4M that was given to my wife. It worked really good until it didn’t, the battery compartment corroded and the lock stopped working. We had to wait until the next morning when Home Depot opened to buy a small bolt cutter to get it off. Later we found out their definition of water resistant was not what one would think, it’s best meant for a lock box. We stick to the old fashioned key locks and my wife hides or wears them.

I have used the app for years. Works really well. It is full proof. Time cannot be tricked by changing the clock on the phone. It has to reconcile time across a network. Very nicely done. Also has a time extended option to add time prior to revealing the photo. I wish it had remote user access. It does not. The time extension has to be used on the device that took the photo.

it actually got modified a bit more from when this photo was taken, there is now a large washer at the top as well as a wing nut.
This means that the lid is extra stiffened and the wing nut cant be loosened as I space it so that the wings are trapped by the cable.
Another safeguard is to have the keys on a split ring, drop that over the bolt before you lock the box and you cant get the keys out in any case until you fully remove the lid.

All that said I made this box for selfbondage delay... if I really need out.. that box has to be breakable... all be it somewhat awkwardly

Self bondage seems like the right use case for such a thing (breakable lockbox with a hardware timer). For those who want a timer for ordinary chastity sessions, I recommend thechaste.com. As opposed to the app suggested by nuts69, it offers photo verification by fellow humans. That eliminates the risk of a broken or unreadable combination photo.
