Hi, I recently started a job where I have to go through a walk through metal detector every day when entering and leaving

I have a brass lock(wolfdog), and haven't gone in wearing the lock yet. Will that set it off, or how does that work? or is there a non-metal alternative to permanent chastity other than zip ties? Strong key locking locks that have no metal

    Thank you!

The numbered security tags, or take a chance and do a somewhat of a test and carry the lock in your pocket and see if that gets picked up. I think that being in your pocket would get picked up faster than in front of you. Actually years ago I would hve to go to airports and pick up people and I would go meet them at the gate. I had a metal buckle on my belt that would set the dector off along with my cars keys. I figured out that I could put my keys in my hand and then cover the buckle with my hand and then I could get through with out detection.

Thanks, I will try jst keeping it in my pocket, to test it. We'd rather not do the zip ties. No leads on non metallic locks?

Just carry the lock in your pocket a few times, to see if the metal detectors go off when passing through. Most likely, if the lock is small it will not. But if it does, just take the lock out, "you forgot you had it with you", and go through again.

I've gone through a couple of machines with a ring of keys in my pocket without setting the thing off. It probably wont do anything. There is probably an equal amount of metal in the rivets on jeans and those never seam to cause an issue.

No way to know without testing it. Each detector is different.

If you think about it to have a none metallic lock it's either plastic or wood .
So what chance of finding your bike still locked .

So it's numbered plastic ties .

Actually thinking about it, as a kid I had a plastic lock that came out of a gumball machine.
