    Got mine late last week. The first time in use and Xena cheerfully locks me up until next Saturday!

    Obviously I've reviewed it on my blog. However, here's the summary:

    The Good
    • Looks vanilla: a cookie jar with scales on top.
    • Lid works however you put it on.
    • Set time up to 9 days. (Increments of minutes, then hours. As you get past a couple of days, two turns of the dial adds another day.)
    • Add more time at any time.
    • Very easy to use.
    • Batteries accessible when locked. Removing batteries puts counter on hold.
    • Price point means you wouldn't casually destroy it to get the keys.
    The Bad
    • Looks vanilla - this is not a sexy device!
    • Cookie-jar sized - not something you can slip into a bedside drawer.
    • Vaguely intriguing to those who spot it.
    • Technically possible for something to fall or press on the the dial so that it increases the time setting.
    Possible kinky uses
    • Self-bondage sessions! (I don't need to do this these days.) The key to the bondage equipment goes in the safe.
    • Xena can stipulate my future chastity lockup, with no possibility of a change of mind or buyer's remorse for anything less than a real emergency. She can also extend my lockup without waiting
    • Xena can leave me chained overnight, The key goes in the safe and is available in time for me to wake her by serving her breakfast.
    • Cooling off period. (I can't see a use for this in our relationship, but...). Chastity device key goes in the safe, set for 24 hours. However the batteries are then removed. Any decision to unlock me requires replacing the batteries and then a 24 hour cooling off period.

    Is that a new feature of being able to add time? We've had our for months now, and once its set, its set...you can't change the time. Oh by the way, they come in mini size now so you can put it in a drawer.

    Damn! They do! Can't believe I didn't find that. I have updated my review.

    Regarding adding time: What works on ours is... click the dial to pause the count, then turn the dial to add time.

    You can do that after the safe is locked? I have tried a zillion times and no dice.

    Hmm. I'm assuming you are doing as per the instructions: click the dial to pause it, then turn the dial to add time.

    I wonder if this is a feature they've quietly added.

    Thank God for small mercies. 10 days is more than enough for me.:(
    @Mistress Jules can always add more at the end of the 10days however it does allow me time to redeem myself;)

    I LOVE the kSafe! The company changed the name from Kitchen Safe.

    As mentioned earlier time can be added but NOT subtracted to the timer. Push the dial down then rotate it clockwise to add time.

    Really great for those unfortunates such as myself without a key holder.

    As far as looking like a innocent cookie jar, mine does not as I choose the clear mini box so the keys are visible which is kinda fun but definitely not stealthy.

    If you do not have quick access to an emergency key, you are not playing safe and sane. I know from many years of fetish play, how a quick way out can save you a lot of pain or damage. I was once rushed to the hospital where they had to go through my urethra to get at an infected kidney stone that collapsed a lung and was close to doing the same to the other. I was rushed into a room with a scanner and asked if I had any metal objects on me. Thanks to my emergency key which I carried to work with me, I was able to unlock before EMS showed up. After the scan I was brought into an operating room where they performed the surgery. I have also had a ball slip out and cause a lot of pain. If you are going to do this for real, do it right or suffer the consequences of your actions. I never thought that I would get a kidney stone attack at work so I never planned for that. That is the danger of not being prepared. We do not protect against things we do not think of. Even having a person hold the emergency key or have the combination to a safe is not good. You cannot count on reaching that person by phone or that you will be home when the problem happens. It is your life but I just hate when new guys let their arousal and porn affect their judgement. No sex game is worth the risk. Your life so do what you want. I learned the hard way in the distant past how unsafe play can land you in the hospital for surgery. This last time I was prepared and my 8 day stay in the hospital might have been longer or the end of the line for me. It was touch and go for awhile and I thought I would not make it. Do not count on the hospital having the equipment readily on hand or have the people who know how to use it available. Also keep in mind that they use caterers for many medical procedures and you know where that goes into. Also not fun to feel pain and see your penis bleeding because the cage split and caught your skin in it or to have a ball trapped and hurting like heck until you can unlock yourself. Some have to learn the hard way as I did when I was young and felt nothing would happen to me. :)

    An emergency key is of course a good idea - we have one, suitably sealed with a security tag and so on. However a good precaution is also to have a device that doesn't split!
