While testing a brand new cage I accidentally broke the key off. In the lock. Apparently I was using the wrong key and I forced it. The lock is your basic integrated design. Can I drill this out or is there any other process suggested? I'd like to salvage my $30 if possible.

Most of those locks you can poke a thin wire right through - try a fine needle and see if you can poke the broken key part out. Failing that, you may be able to grab it with a pair of needle nose pliers. As a last resort, some epoxy glue on a matchstick, apply to the broken key in the lock, leave to set and pull the key out.
