Jailbird Review

After having a jailbird for 4 years now I will have to agree with Xenske that it is the best.

I’ve had mine about two months and agree but I’m curious does anyone have some pro tips on inserting the security screw and holding the base ring and cage aligned to get the screw started? I’ve been using Johnson’s Baby Oil Gel to prevent chafing and it adds to the frustration since the screw can become slippery. I appreciate any ideas.

 

I have been wearing mine for about 8 years now +/-. William has made a few changes over the years to my cage. Cutting it down, making my cage smaller/shorter. My wife did not like I had any room to stretch out. I no longer have any room! They're the best company to work with.

I have the padlock and not the screw. That came out years later.

A small metal punch will line up both holes in the post very nicely. Keep any oil off the screw threads or it will work loose. Wouldn't hurt to clean it with alcohol first just to be sure.

Pro Tip
A personalized thin ribbon securing you to the cage from the inside means that you won't be able to escape undetected. Almost as secure as a PA without getting one.

 

The best way to deal with the security screw is let your keyholder screw it in. You will quickly learn that she is not going to take the time to line it up. You will find yourself locked up much longer each time. I think that is why they call it a security screw (you are secured much longer). I know from experience, I have the security screw.

 

You can also use a 1/8” headphone plug to line them up. Put it in the opposite side from the screw and push it out as you insert the screw.

Also, it helps to use one hand to apply the baby oil and hold the cage, and the other to stay non-slippery for inserting the screw.

Over time you’ll get to where you can eyeball the position of the cage on the post, and then rotate the cage until the screw hole is aligned.

Do you have a picture with the ribbon? Like it must get pee-soaked?

...but I prefer the look of the Queens Keep over the Jailbird.

 

I don't have a picture. The ribbon is cut from vinyl surveyor marking tape, available at most hardware stores. It is about an inch wide on the roll. We cut off about 18 inches, then cut that into 2 or 3 narrower strips.

My wife writes something clever in her handwriting, then I tie it around my penis. As the cage slides on, the ribbon is pulled from inside so that it can be tied to one of the bars. Make a double knot and trim the excess. If done correctly, the ribbon will secure you to the cage.

Of course, you can escape if you really wanted to. However, getting back in is virtually impossible without her seeing that you cheated because you won't be able to restore the ribbon to its original state. This method has served us well for years.

Just curious for those of you whom ordered: is a tracking number provided when the order is dispatched? Not only asking for myself, but Domme as well. my order was placed about three weeks ago.

 

Got a new, smaller one this year. It just showed up one day, no prior notification. Not sure if they changed protocol, or if it was accidental that I didn't receive a heads up.

 

I received my jailbird in July, i did email MM for a tracking number. They sent me the USPS notification in my email. I needed to know, since my partner would question what I received. I was home that day.

 

Typical production time is 6-8 weeks unless you paid premium for quicker despatch. I am guessing you have a few weeks to go before its ready for shipping

 

When your shipping label is created, USPS is supposed to email you with the tracking information.

 

I’ve had my JB for about five years and love it. The security screw is fiddly. I use a screw grabber to get it started. Something like

Umm, I would have thought this is obvious, but insert and tighten the screw, and *then* lubricate chafing spots with baby oil gel. Your hands don't get slippery until after the screw is in, and the threads don't get lubricated which helps the screw to loosen up.

 

Can anyone give the spacing between the bars on the Jailbird cage tube please? It seems that a pinky can slip between or not?

My Queens Keep (similar to a jailbird) has about .5" on average between the bars (the spacing varies a bit depending on which bars).

Yes you can slip a pinky through the bars (mine slips through easily), ..which also means it's possible to clean without removing it.

I'm a bit concerned about cheating then (when excited the flesh is soooo weak) but the problem does exist with my current CK, although I'm struggling to get the tip of my pinky through. However, with arousal and patience I can shake the whole package to the point that stimulation from vibrations etc is enough to prime the cum pump and voilà, I end up with a sorta ruined big leak. Unsatisfying for sure but still more than just dripping.

Maybe the problem is between the ears...

 

I have a Contender (similar design) and I can easily slip my pinky in and even a bit of my forefinger. As @Alana says, this is great for hygiene, but does make cheating easier than I wish. That's another reason I like my short Contender: Mark added a custom cross bar on the bottom side (frenulum), and between that and the shorter length it's almost impossible to cheat just by finger (magic wand is still a probLem for the weak-willed, sigh)
